Guest guest
Dear all and especially heather, Its been a while since I contribute in this mailing group, as been mentioned my son dio was diagnosed with infantile scoliosis he is now 2 years old with a 20 degrees curve, apparently it is hard for us to access a cast treatment here in indonesia. We went for another x-ray today, and the curve had been increasing to 20 degrees since we did the x-ray a week before dio's first birthday. The orthopedic suggest dio start using the boston brace for 23 hours a day. My question is whether any member of this group have or currently experiencing using the boston brace for their infants?. How effective is the boston brace? We are doing the measurements tomorrow, and by the end of next week dio will start using the brace. Your information will be a great help in preparing us of what we are about to face with the brace. Thank you so muchBest regardsRinita dio's motherSent from my BlackBerry®powered by Sinyal Kuat INDOSATFrom: "rachelmjacobs" <rachelmjacobs@...>Sender: infantile scoliosis treatment Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2012 01:17:39 -0000<infantile scoliosis treatment >Reply infantile scoliosis treatment Subject: Re: Early treatment and Mehta casting works- Ella's Story Thanks so much everyone. Guest guest
My son is currently in a boston brace. He's been using it since the beginning on March and I go this Tuesday to see if his curve is holding using it. I will let you know then either positive or negative once I know after Tuesday. Guest guest
Hi Rinita, The boston brace (w/ neck support because her curve was high in location) helped maintain my daughters curves for about a yr. All children are so different, so Dio may respond if his curves are still low. Please keep us posted on his recent measurements, if possible. Thanks for the update Rinita..Please let us know how its going.
