Guest guest
I understand your frustration and your right, it isn't fair! My son has low tone too. Has your PT ever mentioned muscle memory? My sons tone has improved slightly over time. It's still weak and he's squishy everywhere except his calves. He's also skinny. Very bony right now. He has never eaten very well and has lots of texture issues. We started giving him half a pedisure a day. Sorry to hear about Thad. Sometimes life isn't fair! I feel your pain 100% + some. Tomorrow will be better. We are how in our 6 cast and Thad's spine looks good sitting at about 42* in cast but with min rotation. In this cast he can not sit on the floor at all and its cut short compared to some we have had. his balance is so off for being on his back for the last 7 weeks. We went to our PT today for an assessment and he is basically back at where he was at 18 months!!!! we have lost 1.5 years of hard work in the last 4 months. makes me so mad!! i dont know what to do! Thaddeus can barely crawl anymore. it almost like he has forgot he has legs... he was a bit better by the end but it was a fight for him. he is getting his cast off in May and we will brace for the summer so i am praying that will help him. i am so mad i have to see him struggle like this. its not fair!!! i hate it. if anyone has any advice on what to do i would really appreciate it. Also has anyone their child anything to build muscle?? like protein shakes or steroid or something....??? i dont want to do steroids but he needs something to help him gain weight and muscle. He is 24lbs and 36.5 inches tall... thanks Mommy to Thaddeus 3years in cast 6 ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Our pediatrician said there isn't a lot you can do. We bought hemp protien powder to put in food/drinks. They have all kinds of natural protien powders but hemp was nutritionally the best at the nature store we went to. I figured the more protien the better! Guest guest
Good idea (muscle memory)...dont know much about it, but it seems worth looking into...What is it exactly?
