Well, I'm still in the hospital. But my body is so confused. When I came in

for surgery, I weighed in at 292. After surgery, I went all the way up to 302.

Then I lost that 10 lbs. of water weight and more during my week at home and

when I checked back in to the hospital Wednesday, I was down to 281!! (Cool

beanz!) And now, just 5 days later, I'm back up to 299! How can a person gain

17 lbs. in 5 days and have NO PITTING in their legs and my hands are NOT

swollen. However, my stomach looks like I'm 9 months pregnant and like it's

going to burst. I'm peeing, so my kidney's are obviously working. They were

giving me IV fluids, but they have been weaning them down for the past two days

and just stopped them this morning. Well, I finally mentioned it to the nurse

(who happens to be the charge nurse) as I was asking for a pain pill and told

her I can't wait to start peeing up a storm so I can lose these 17 lbs. and she

REFUSED to believe I had gained that much weight since Wednesday. Said I would

be super bloated and have numb hands and feet and all that if I had gained that

much. So she went and checked my chart and lo and behold, I was exactly right.

So she just had an aide bring in every scale they use and weigh me on each one

to see if there are discrepancies and two of them weighed me at 299.9 and one

was a couple lbs. lower. So now I think she's worried. And now she's got ME

worried!! But she said if I had a belly full of pus it would hurt a lot more

than what I'm indicating. So, now the " weighting " game begins (pun intended)

to see what they are going to do about it. I really thought it was just normal

for having been on an IV. <slumping shoulders> I wanna go home!!!

Please don't stop praying for me yet, ok?

Blessings and hugs,

Laurie E.
