Guest guest
Hi Folks: A while back there was discussion about itchy scalp and I wanted to share my latest experience. Years ago, I took Zerit and wound up with some numbness in my feet. About two months ago I was looking at my feet and noticed that I had redness around the sides and heel even though they didn't itch probably from the numbness. Aha! Athletes Foot I thought. I started treating it with over-the-counter clortrimazole cream and the redness is just about gone. A week after I started treatment, I noticed that my scalp itchiness was drastically reduced. I mentioned it to my doctor and he thought I may have been having a kind of Id reaction. Apparently the white-blood cells called eosinophils that attack fungus can get overactive and attack other cells in the body. Some people don't even know they have athletes foot until they go to the doctor with an Id reaction. Go figure. Here's a link to a description: http://dermatology.about.com/od/glossaryi/g/id_reaction.htmI hope my experience can help others with the same problem.
