Guest guest
Nothing makes me happier than watching birds/animals in nature. In fact, I don't believe I would've survived the last few years here in Atlanta if not for my birdfeeders! Right now the Goldfinches have nearly finished their spring molt---wish I had a webcam set up so you could see them, they are so lovely and I have a charm of about 50 regulars. This will sound horrible to many, but as far as avian flu goes, I'm more concerned about the birds than the humans. Far too many of us around right now, anyway. Am I awful? Thank you for answering my question. I've just been thinking about this more and more as my sensitivity to violent images in particular has been increasing. I think it may be similar to what happened when I stopped going to loud music shows (don't know how I ever tolerated those, thinking back), that my sensitivity has increased after a period of not subjecting myself to it, as I discovered the first time I tried to go to a show (and immediately ran to purchase some ear plugs). It's hard for me to even watch the Itchy and Scratchy parts of the Simpsons anymore, that's how sensitive to violent imagery I am, I just don't even want to imagine someone doing those things to someone else. Ah, I've just helped myself figure it out. It isn't the images, it's that I can't help thinking about it happening in reality. Now, that's what I love about this group: when I discuss things in here, I tend to figure things out about myself as well. Thanks, ! And everyone else!
