Guest guest
The old cast iron pans tend to be best. Kathy Jo has some, otherwise check out thrift stores and garage sales. Many of the new ones are junk. Food in them tastes awful. Not sure what the finish is on them but ick. Supposedly the best way to season them is to use flaxseed oil from the health stores. You have to break open the little gelcaps. Here is a link about the different oils and such: http://sherylcanter.com/wordpress/2010/01/a-science-based-technique-for-seasonin\ g-cast-iron/ However, I think if you just clean the crap out of it and keep it clean without having to use harsh soap everytime and re-oil it when done cleaning, it would probably last and look great.
