Jaffe (MD, PhD in biochemistry, CCN, head of Perque professional

supplements, decent all around guy) says that if taking Mg gives you the

runs too quickly, you're probably low in choline, which is found in the

" chol or kohl " brassica or cabbage family veggies/

These would include KOHLrabi, brocCOLi, CAULiflower, COLlards, KALE, also

legumes, egg yolks, other real foods. Choline is part of acetylcholine, a

major neurotransmitter for the autonomic (unconscious) nervous system, also

component of phosphatidyl choline (PC) part of cell membranes in every cell

in the body, as well as supporting conversion of homocysteine away from its

" crossroads " and potentially damaging position to more beneficial roles.

Magnesium itself is used in the body anywhere ATP is involved, which means

everywhere. It has been linked with more than 350 specific reactions,

with more recognized daily. (Mildred Seelig and noff wrote a

very accessible book on this a while ago. I reckon that when the Creator

told Adam/Man that all that green vegetation (including grass) was there

for his sustenance, he/she reckoned we'd fix our meals by stepping out of

our dwellings to pick some green plant as a starter, thus get a good dose

of magnesium. (Magnesium is the mineral or " gem " in chlorophyll that

captures sun energy and makes plants green.) Who could have predicted that

" man " would get to the point of getting his meals from white styrofoam

containers?

Mg is fabulous for almost instantaneous relief of muscle spasms, be they

skeletal muscle cramps (runners & athletes), smooth muscle (alleviating

GERD due to spasms in the esophageal sphincter, also intercostal (btw the

ribs) muscle spasms that can mimic heart attack without the heart &

breathing component), cardiac muscle -- heads-up doctors recommend

administration of magnesium immediately after a real MI (heart attack). In

our household, we don't leave home without it.

Magnesium is also one of the benefits of Epsom Salts, MgSO4; the other

beneficial part being the sulfur, which supports detox processes plus a lot

more. KL
