Hi All of you who are following my friend Jeannie. I request urgent prayers

for her, as she is now at death's door. Unfortunately, when she had the colon

surgery, the doctor nicked the ureter and the attached ends of her colon

developed a leak. Though she and her family complained about her pain and

discomfort and her breathing problems, nothing was done for 2-3 days. Last

night she

underwent emergency surgery to correct the leak, repair the ureter and to do

a permanent colostomy, removing her rectum. The surgeon, however, found

advanced peritonitis involving her lungs from the undetected leak, was unable to

perform the colostomy, did repair the ureter and I don't know what else that was

necessary. Her lung function was so poor they couldn't make the surgery last

longer. There is bad news about her lab reports, too. The cuts he made were

too close to the edges of the cancer, and the rectum will need to be removed

to remove the chance of spreading malignancy. She is now in a medically

induced coma, with only 3 members of her family allowed to visit. They will not

know whether there will be a positive outcome for at least two weeks.

Please, please pray for Jeannie...she was doing so fabulously well before

this horrible set back. I give thanks, today, as I do everyday, for our Dr. K.

I

feel he is one of the few doctors out there that still listen to their

patients. The doctor wasn't watching her for the alarming symptoms, and brushed

off

the symptoms she did have as minor. I am so sad, but I am also so

angry...angry at the doctor, and at the attending nurses who chose not to listen

to the

patient or her family when they spoke of their serious concerns. THEY KNEW

SOMETHING WAS WRONG -- and no one was listening.

Hug your families today, my friends, for tomorrow is promised to no one.

Hugs and blessings, Ann

Anne, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend! She and her family

are in my prayers. I hope someone in her family will take that

hospital to court for the lack of care she received.

Thank you, Sharon. Things are looking a bit brighter. They called me on

Thursday and told me she was dying but she has fooled them all, with the help of

many, many prayers and dedicated friends and family, she has regained her

kidney function, right after having dialysis, they are using less medication to

support her blood pressure and her fever is down! I thank you so much for your

prayers. Hugs and blessings, Ann

Thanks you, Tracey, for your prayers (see my last post for the update). When

things settle down the family may decide to pursue options, for now, it is

all just too difficult and the focus has to be on Jeannie's recovery and

supporting her emotionally and with prayer. You are so wonderful to include

Jeannie

and her family in your prayers. Hugs and blessings, Ann

Dearest Ann,

I am still praying for Jeannie and yes the power of prayer is the

stongest power we have.

It still amazes me how God can work thru us the way He does. I am

also praying for your strength and for God to give you comfort in

these hard times that we cant understand or comrpehend.

Hugging you tightly
