Guest guest
I have a flock of 20 some older hens and 1 rooster for sale. These birds are about 16 months old and have been pastured and fed only organic soy-free layer and sprouted organic whole grains. They are currently laying about a dozen eggs a day but I need to make room for the replacement flock. They will molt in about september/October at which point laying will slow further. They would start laying again sometime in late winter/early spring. They would also make great stewing hens. They would need to be slow cooked or their meat would be tough. They make fantastic high gelatin bone broth. they are about 5-7lbs live weight. I need to sell them as live birds. I simply don & #39;t have time to process them. I & #39;m open to someone butchering them at my place and I could even teach you how. As live birds I would take $4 each. I know that I could sell them on craigslist easily, but I thought I & #39;d offer them to this group where their excellent diet would be appreciated. I need them gone by mid-August.
