Guest guest
Well, at least now you know and can work with it. It doesn't seem too bad, just the mass. I 'd be relieved to have it out, IMO. Hang in there. It seems just when they get to a good point in the studies, there's another set-back. That's why I decided not to wait any longer.Sharon Liver Biopsy ReportI held out for 10 days, but finally picked up a copy today.Much to my happy surprise it didn't seem nearly as awfulas it might have been. Grade1, Stage 1, inflamation predominately involving the portal areas with minimal spillage into the lobules,no bridging, minimal fatty change, no cirrhosis!. I hope that buys me some time. I want to treat, but as I'm a Geneotype 1, I had hoped they might have something witha bit shorter treatment sometime soon.. They are still calling the mass (my GI doctor recently saidin a letter I didn't even have a mass) a "probable" hemangioma.I see him again on the 6th. (Second visit since September). The Radiologist said the mass should be re-checked the end of February due to the Hep C and my family history, we'll see...It grew some from Novermber to December, he said if it grows againit needs to come out and then be biopsied.. Guest guest
A hemangioma is easily diagnosed on a cat scan or MRI. I do MRI and cat and x ray. It is 99 percent definetly hemangioma if the contrast fills it over time they have to do delay pics after contrast injection. Good luck melSheena <mom4possums2002@...> wrote: I held out for 10 days, but finally picked up a copy today. Much to my happy surprise it didn't seem nearly as awful as it might have been.. Guest guest
For the MRi we used Gadolinium not the same as the cat scan / x ray dye that makes you feel warm and can get a reaction. The gadolinium is very safe, I like Magnevist brand. I have been using it for over 20 years on my patients with no problems at all! But yes you need contrast to r/o the mass vs henmangioma MelHillbilly Tim <knoxweb1@...> wrote: as to mri's, ct etc. the die makes me feel like a heart attack. do u really need it?mELODEE DESTEFANO <melodeedestefano > wrote: A hemangioma is easily diagnosed on a cat scan or MRI. Guest guest
That sounds like good news all the way around on the biopsy report, Sheen! So glad to hear that. Sorry you had a hard time with the biopsy. I am feeling okay most of the time. I think I just got the eight week blues - ought to be a song! And there are days when I wish there wasn't any other aspects of life to deal with - but I know that overall I am a lucky lady to be here fighting this virus. There doesn't seem to be a lot of predictability for me as to a day I feel better or not - just every once in a while I get hit with a day when staying near the couch seems like a good idea. best to you - karen > > I held out for 10 days, but finally picked up a copy today. > Much to my happy surprise it didn't seem nearly as awful > as it might have been.. > > Grade1, Stage 1, inflamation predominately involving > the portal areas with minimal spillage into the lobules, > no bridging, minimal fatty change, no cirrhosis!. > > I hope that buys me some time. Guest guest
My MRI was done with and without contrast and the report read that a Neoplasm could not be ruled out. The mass was not biopsied during my liver biopsy, but they are calling it a "probable" hemangioma. Biopsy was done under Cat Scan, but without the use of dye. I am more than pleased with my biopsy report, but will sure be wanting to keep an eye on the mass until they are truly sure.. Guest guest
Thanks, Jax and Janet, I have much hope, but my father died from liver cancer, so I tend to be a bit more cautious.. They said they couldn't biopsy the mass unless, or until it was actually removed..
