:::Ihavent given up totally, I am upping my exercise and lowering my

carb intake and upping my fluids. I WILL make the 180s by my 2 yr

anniversary....iwill i will i will...

> All that said though, I am validating what you are feeling. I

would be upset too. I know that I still feel " fat " even with the

plastics and needing to lose another 20 lbs. I am a size 14/16.

I'll never see the single digits. And, I probably wont see the

illusive size 12 which is my " dream number " .

:::I dont really think that I am upset and didnt mean to come off

that way. I just dont think that I could stand up in front of

someone and have them say...YES, I want the DS, look what it did for

her! Hopefully they would want to do better.

By the way 12 is my dream number too. But I have been this 16 (some

14s) since June and dont see any 12s looming in my near future.

That doesnt mean I cant DIET and exercize the rest off. It is

possible if I could get my head going in that direction.

But I am working really hard on trying to get my " head right " with

how I am defining success. I am beautiful and I am no longer FAT.

(I say that over and over again as affirmations!) Fatness or thiness

is not some arbitrary dress size or a number on a scale. And I can

show countless former MO people who are now a normal size by your

definition who still think and feel fat. Is there pain less

justified because they have hit the " number " that defines them

as " ideal " ?

:::I do feel like a success. Just not an example of what others

would want to be. I feel great, look better than I have in 30 years,

weigh less than I have in 30 years and am beautiful in my own way.

That said, we all have our own demons to deal with, fat or thin.

they are our demons and we have to deal with them. I am not

discounting the way anyone else feels about themselves, they are

their feelings and therefore valid. I have always said (living with

a sister and mom who are 12s and below) that the 10-20 lbs they want

to loose is just as hard for them as the 180 lbs I want to loose. It

is all relevant.

I didn't think you were upset... I didn't mean to make it sound that

way. Bad choice of words on my part I guess.

I just dont think that I could stand up in front of

Hmmmm. I understand. But I still think that " we " (as in the

general population, not just you and me) have a screwed up version of

the ideal as it is set by some number or unrealistic " looks "

expectations. I mean... maybe your normal is where you are at? I

dunno.

Hopefully they would want to do better.

Funny. I consider you a great example of what I want to be. :) I

look at your pic and I see a normal sized person. Granted, I haven't

seen you in person since my surgery.... but in your pics, I would

call you average sized.

Thank you. Brave? I dunno. I think the word i would pick

is " stupid " but I like your euphasim better <grin>

I'm still amazed that going to Costco doesn't tire me out

anymore.....

Hi Sharon, I'm sorry I am so late with this response, but I would beg to

differ with your above comment! LOL I think you have to look at the real

reason

for losing weight -- quality of life. I would look at you as a complete

success and know that I would want the same improvement in my quality of life!

But, I will also add that some days I think I look great and I am happy where I

am, and other days I see myself as hopelessly out of control and that I will be

fat forever in my head, so I completely understand where your feeling come

from. Ahhh, were it only so easy to conquer our brains! Hugs and blessings,

Ann

Yes, Sharon, I can imagine that because I am the buttless wonder! We all

have our problem spots or lack thereof, and my family keeps telling me they'd

kick my butt...if I had one! LOL Hugs and blessings, Ann
