Hi all,

I am finally getting settled into the NW a bit better... at least the packing

is done, I have been to an orientation for substituting for a school district

and have another tomorrow for a different district.

On the flip side, though, I am a bit down. Today would have been my 9th

wedding anniversary, so I have been thinking a lot on that today. My former

in-laws have started giving me more of the cold shoulder (than they already

had). It

is odd to be part of a family for so long and then get dumped like you are

something bad. I can see them ignoring my wedding, but they also skipped my

birthday.

I got my paperwork for COBRA last week. It is more than my truck payment!!

But, since I don't have a full time job and stupid things happen to me on a

regular basis, I will pay the piper. I know that if I don't it won't be one week

until I end up in ER getting stitches or an arm casted!

I will be attending the RYN/DS meeting in Portland at the end of the month.

That should be interesting. It was odd enough to be in the doctor's office here

with all thelap band patients burping and beltching the whole time (I guess

they come in for adjustments?). I am told that the support group here is very

nice. I hope so. It is a bit lonely up here. I know only a few people and they

have work and their own lives, so I can't bug them all the time. I looked into

taking classes at one of the community centers, but most of them don't start

until the middle/end of October. So until then, I suppose I will have to make

do. I am just not very good at getting out there and meeting people. I have to

be put into a situation like work or school (or friendly Delano meetings!).

Tom doesn't get it, because he makes friends and talks to people wherever he

goes. Lucky man.

Okay, done whining now. I had better get going and get my expired CA tags

changed to WA before I get a ticket!
