Guest guest
Tom, Thank you for your thoughtful response. Now, my question is this: How do we help those around us develop self-esteem? I believe that the gift of creativity is where it begins. Unfortunately, too many believe that it is only for 'the best', those who can make money at it, who get published, shown, etc. who should be allowed to create. This is wrong. This is one reason I am thrilled to learn of Kate Gladstone's work---one of the greatest things we can all do is write, and too many are turned off by their own 'poor' penmanship. One of the most empowering acts is that of writing our own thoughts down, having a conversation with ourself, seeing our own thoughts on paper. I wish everyone would give themselves the gift of active meditation that is the daily stream-of-consciousness journal, where you just let it all pour out for as long as you can write. Was it E.M. Forster who said " How do I know what I think until I see what I say " ? Or something along those lines...so kudos to you for providing a place for us to write and think! This is good work! :-) All Best, Jill
