Guest guest
Tom, Now, my question is this: How do we help those around us develop self-esteem? I believe that the gift of creativity is where it begins. Jill My feelings regarding this can be found in earlier group messages actually. In post 619, I mention that I would like this place to be " A safe and friendly place. " I mention that: " We have a good mix of people and participants, and the feeling that I get when I come here is one of my own little hideaway where I can go to to escape from the real world and be with people I can relate to, and I hope you all feel the same. " and... " This is the type of atmosphere I would like to maintain, and I would like you all to help, just by being yourselves! " In message 840 you can see some of the whimsical ideas I had regarding making FAM a place for all. Post 845 encapsulates my views on posting: " As I have said before, everyone is free to come and go as they please. There is no pressure to participate because when we feel the most free with ourselves, we are at our best. But I do enjoy it the most when we get some good conversation going too. " While these excerpts might seem to have very little to do with self- esteem, they really do. People need to have an escape from the world where they can be themselves without trepidation. That was the original idea behind this site and its its sister message boards and as I have stated, I am trying to take steps to capture the original FAM feel if I can.
