Guest guest
Okay, have you ever had Castle Rock's squeaky-fresh cheese curds? If not, you have to come out to their big event this Saturday (come to the campout on Friday night, too!) I pick up a bag of Castle Rock's cheese curds every now and then and relish them. However, there hasn't been anything to replace the deep love I hold in my heart for the deep fried cheese curds. I haven't had a State Fair basket of the fried curds in well over a decade but doggonit, I MISS them! I'm not far off from coordinating a cheese curd reunion for myself as I learned of a new variation in the last week that I plan on trying this wknd after I bring home some of CR's curds! This was filmed at the State Fair last Friday... http://twincitieslive.com/article/stories/S2266920.shtml?cat=11674 The modifications I'm going to make are to make the batter w/ a sprouted flour along w/ the suggested dip mix and fry them in tallow rather than canola! Yum. yum. yum! I have a feeling that my heart won't be drawn back to those fond childhood memories of the State Fair cheese curd stand quite as strong any longer!
