Hi,

I have ordered 2 new hives of bees that will be picked up in a couple of weeks.

The bees are healthy, active, and ready to go. They will need to be fed until

there is enough for them to find on their own but with our current spring, that

should not be long!

He does have more bees available. I ordered 8 frames so they come in a large

super and are pretty easy for me to move--one time! He also sells smaller

amounts if that works better for you.

Bees are needed and can be used in every part of the state! There are ways of

" hiding " them in the metro, or maybe you know of a farmer who would let you have

bees on their farm? Great way to help pollinate and maybe get some honey from

your own bee colony!

I am picking up bees in Wisconsin, Osceola to be exact. I like his bees and

working with him. I can't remember his name right now tho which is making me

feel very old but he offers to help and will point you in the right direction to

getting set up well.

715-294-3897 is the number to call, just let him know you are interested in

bees. The 8 frames are $130, I think the smaller ones are $80 but not sure.

Also, if you do get bees, don't buy the plastic frame and foundation. My bees

hate it. Skipped right over it and built on the old style foundation. You can

buy frames/foundation already put together or can build it yourself.

No idea what I am talking about? :-) Just google raising honey bees and that

should help.

The U of M also has a pretty good bee course available on line for $25.

With the pathetic maple syrup " crop " this year, honey will probably be in

demand. And it is difficult at best to find good honey so why not try a hive or

two, raise up some bees, help them repopulate, and learn how wonderful this

stinging little helpers can be?
