Hello Everyone,

The recent conflict on the FAM boards has caused the moderators and I

to discuss what should be done to solve the difficulties we have been

having and in a fair and equitable manner.

A consensus has been reached via chat and e-mails and we expect to be

putting the solution into effect sometime on Monday.

I would strongly advise that members check into the forum to see what

will happen since what will happen will affect each and every member.

Please know that we understand the solution may cause a certain

degree of stress, but we TRULY believe it is the best solution

possible.

Further announcements will be forthcoming.

So why not just come out and tell use? Why prolong the inevitable.

Is this a tease?

No it is not a tease. The moderators are trying to come up with the

best solution - better than a hasty ill thought out reaction surely?

It makes me sad to see people whom I consider to be on-line

friends (and IRL friends sort-of) being referenced as " engaging

in troll-like behaviours " .

The comfortable part of the group was the fact that people of a

wide range of different philosophies and backgrounds were " in

charge " . I could learn things from that, and it gave a depth to

the forums.

A blacklist? Why am I suddenly reminded of McCarthyism?

Were these fellow Aspies really " trolls, " or were they just on the

opposite side of the pole?

I'll always have nice memories of this forum, but it's time to move on.

In 8 years and several hundred lists later I have never seen so much

mention of trolls and troll like behavior. It must be remembered that

this is an aspie list. It is a very common aspie trait to have strong

opinions and be very direct in expressing them. I would have to admit

that Rainbow went overboard but that could have been easily and

quickly resolved without such huge upheval and discord.

I think the only other comparative example I have seen was whera

moderator put the list owner on moderated status because sge did not

like what he was posting. Needless to say she is no longer a member of

that forum.

Stan,

Everyone who is on moderation can be removed from it.

All they have to do is obey the rules.

There has been only ONE member that has been banned from ALL the forums

and even Inger, who is on moderation, agrees with that decision.

Perhaps she will post to back me up on that?

.... including me (but that had nothing to do with Tom, Inger, et

al.)

It seems didn't appreciate my server, " verizon.net "

applying spam blocks to some of SBC's domains. So I thanked

them (verizon.net) for it since I'd rather see the spam blocks.

(I'm temporarily rerouting incoming groups mail through

another server.)
