Check out Dr. Brownstein's book on thyroid disorders and his other book on

iodine:

https://www.drbrownstein.com/homePage.php

Might also get some good info here:

http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Also might want to pick up one of Lee's books

http://www.johnleemd.com/

Info there relevant for both men and women (and some diagnostic tools as

well)

Subject: Myxedema; Adult hypothyroidism

Is there a " Nourishing Traditions " method for treating hypothyroidism? We

have yet to diagnose, but all signs (inability to tolerate cold, fatigue,

depression, muscle pain, etc) point to it. The medical world says " there is

no way to prevent " it. The " only " treatment option is to take hormones

(Levothyroxine). Once you start, you're on it for life.

You might also want to read Dr. Kharrazian's book Why Do I Still Have

Thyroid Symptoms When My Lab Tests Are Normal?

http://www.amazon.com/Still-Thyroid-Symptoms-Tests-Normal/dp/1600376703/ref=sr_1\

A significant portion of people with thyroid issues actually have

Hashimoto's thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune disease. If this were the

case you might not want to supplement with iodine because it can be like

putting gas on the proverbial fire.

Also, check out Kresser's articles on hypothyroidism:
