One solution that has worked great for me and others of my family is putting

NutraSweet down where you see the ants. They see it as a source of food and

carry it back to their nest. It's toxic to them and not only kills them, but the

whole nest too. I've done this numerous times and have had good success with it.

Put a decent amount down and it may take a week to two. I don't remember exactly

how long it has taken me, but it's not an immediate result. I have always been

amazed at how well it works. It's the only useful thing that junk is good for!

:-) It also just proves how terrible the stuff is and also how toxic it can be.

I would advise against doing this if you have pets. It is toxic to cats

and dogs as well.

I am wondering if it is toxic to humans then too. Never eat the stuff myself.

I personally would stay far far away from it. I know with animals

artificial sweeteners confuse their bodies and messes with their insulin.

They always warn about Xylitol but I think it is a similar issue for most

artificial sweeteners. Xylitol is the big one I always see warnings about

though. I guess I would err on the better safe than sorry side of things.

Dogs and cats are unable to break down xylitol and it does not pass for

them, so it is toxic. That is why xylitol has pet warnings. Some things

can pass right through and not be absorbed. Not that other sweeteners are

safe, but xylitol is a heavy poison to animals.
