Guest guest
Hi Lee, I don't have an answer to your question (feel sure someone else will :-)... That is great that you ALT and AST are so low - were they this low while you were on treatment or have they dropped since your last blood test? I feel sure your viral load will be negative - how long until you hear? Don't you hate the waiting? love & light, karen > > > I just got some of my my one week post treatment blood test results. > Still waiting to see about the viral test, but as of last friday I am > still anemic, hemoglobin at 11, and my white cells are still a little > low. Guest guest
Hi Lee, Ovalcytes are just a referral to the shape of your red cells, when you get anemic, sometimes the shapes change as well,, I had Ovalcytes, poikocytes and several other cytes but they all returned to normal within 6 months of tx.. Try not to get worried, I think its just part of the side effects these drugs wreck on our red cells... it sounds like you are recovering well,, and your alt/ast are GREAT!!! I know the waiting is hard,, Im coming up for my 4 year post tx PCR and Im already worried,, and I havent even had the blood drawn yet..lolLee <leecuate@...> wrote: I just got some of my my one week post treatment blood test results.Still waiting to see about the viral test, but as of last friday I amstill anemic, hemoglobin at 11, and my white cells are still a littlelow. My sodium is down again, too. I was thinking that they would havegone up more. There was another wierd thing that I don't understand. Instead of theplatelet count it says: Hematology Comments 1+ Ovalocytes Differentialreviewed and confirmed. Pathology report to follow.I don't know what this means. One great thing in it is that my ALT isdown to 13 ant my AST is down to 23.If anyone knows what ovalocytes are, please let me know.LeeJackie
Guest guest
The ovalocytes are a form of anemia , and treatment is usually directed at the cause of the anemia . Ovalocytes are cells that are larger than normal . 1 week post Tx blood test I just got some of my my one week post treatment blood test results.Still waiting to see about the viral test, but as of last friday I amstill anemic, hemoglobin at 11, and my white cells are still a littlelow. My sodium is down again, too. I was thinking that they would havegone up more. There was another wierd thing that I don't understand. Guest guest
, Both my ALT and Ast have been consistantly dropping since I started treatment. Before starting, ALT 63, AST 46. My previous test, one month ago, was ALT 20 and AST 29. Now 13 and 23. Now I've just got to get my blood back to normal. The viral test should be in later this week. Thanks, Lee > > > > > > I just got some of my my one week post treatment blood test results. > > Still waiting to see about the viral test, but as of last friday I am > > still anemic, hemoglobin at 11, and my white cells are still a little > > low. Guest guest
Thanks Liz, I am supposed to get another test next week. Maybe if it doesn't change they'll finally put me on Procrit. I am also wondering if this means that my blood cells are trying to regenerate. Lee > > The ovalocytes are a form of anemia , and treatment is usually directed at the cause of the anemia . Guest guest
By now your blood cells should be regenerating and if your next blood tests show a continued anemia I am sure the doctor is going to give you something to treat it . 1 week post Tx blood test> > > > I just got some of my my one week post treatment blood test results.> Still waiting to see about the viral test, but as of last friday I am> still anemic, hemoglobin at 11, and my white cells are still a little> low.
