Yes the owner of this forum Janet had SVR and the virus became active again . It happens all the time , the longest I have heard anyone staying clear is 8 yrs .

typically if one is going to 'relapse', its usually within 6 months of ending treatment, and the stats show that if you reach 2 years post tx and are still SVR,, your chance of relapse drops to 1%. Hello,

Did those that relapse have combo

treatmant during their first cure? Early cure was based on Interferon only. I

hope combo treatment reduces the risk of relapse.

The dragon sleeps in the body. When liver

is overloaded or immune system weakens, it wakes up. I don’t have HCV.

But I guess it is very stressful to think

whether it will wake up in the future even if you have SVR.

But as Jackie said, the risk is very low

after a SVR duration of 2 years. I pray that every one on the treatment gets

rid of this viruse and it never relapses.

I don't know of many that cleared using just the monotherapy , most clear using the combo . And yes hepatitis can sleep in the body for many years , so that is why it is important to take care of yourselves .

I relapsed after 6 months of pegalated interferon and ribaviron. I was soo sick the first month, tho. I stopped treatment for a month and then continued. Knowing what I know now, that may have been why I relapsed.
