This is the brand I buy and I also get it from subscribe and save. We are

relatively new to traditional foods and this is the only brand I have ever had

of coconut oil, but I really like it. Take my endorsement for what it is

worth....maybe not much!

If shopping at Amazon makes you a sell out you are in good company. I

order from them often. I also get my kosher great lakes gelatin from

there. Haven't been able to find it locally. Price is currently higher

I think that is a good price on the Nutiva - especially with free shipping

- I also like the brand.

I have been thinking of ordering some of the coconut oil from Green

Pastures though. Anyone tried that? Feedback?

LOL. I personally don't think I am, and I try to buy things from local

businesses as much as possible, but ya know, if I can save of this to get good

beef, I'll do it.

Agreed ... lamb, beef, eggs and dairy etc right from the farmers ... CSA

time coming up for fresh veggies and such ... love to buy local and support

farmers - but for something like this - well we don't grow coconuts up here

so one way or another it is shipped in.

We've been buying the dual 54 oz deal from Amazon for the past couple years.

I've used a lot of WFN products, Tropical Traditions, etc. I'm inclined to say

Nutiva cold pressed is the exact oil WFN uses under a different label, but I

cannot prove it. I've done blinded tests and cannot tell them apart.

I've recommended this route to coconut oil heaven few times on this site and the

response is usually *cricket* *cricket*, so it's good to see others take

advantage of it.

And yes, the price does fluctuate some and has gone up a bit recently. Thing

about Amazon is it tracks click traffic and adjusts the price based on that.

Last time I ordered the dual 54's, it was $.43/oz. And once you start S & S, you

don't necessarily keep getting the same price as it will adjust, so watch that.
