Guest guest
If you were at the Trad Foods Potluck this weekend, you heard about some very special opportunities to support and defend our food sovereignty. One of these opportunities is the " 1000 For Vernon Rally " in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Vernon Hershberger has been engaged in a battle with the State of Wisconsin for several years over his right to supply raw milk and other fresh farm products to the local buying club. At the upcoming court date March 2nd, Vernon will be defending himself against four charges of criminal misdemeanors for failing to obtain proper permits relating to his farm store, raw milk, and the buying club. Will you be one of the 1000? A Rally is scheduled to take place on the courthouse steps prior to Vernon's hearing. The purpose of the Rally is to celebrate Vernon's efforts, as well as all small independent farmers fighting to sustain freedom and to farm sustainably. Please join us Friday, March 2 from 11-1 at the courthouse in Baraboo Wisconsin. Show your support and engage in a very special opportunity to demonstrate your Farm Food Independence. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++\ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do you want to know more about peaceful non-compliance or civil disobedience? Are you curious about the history and outcome of these modes of resistance? Do you have a desire to 'stand up' but want to know more first? For answers and encouragement, please join us for a Rights Workshop the afternoon of March 1st on the Hershberger Farm. Speakers will include Max Kane, Gumpert, Moody (who just saw the successful passing of a food freedom bill in his state of Kentucky), Farm-Food-Freedom Coalition Co-Founder Liz Reitzig, Schmidt, and your very own local, Mel Olson. Topics will range from " Taking Responsability for your Freedom " and " Responding to Police Force, " to personal testimonies of successful resistance and defending yourself without a lawyer. The workshop will conclude with dinner supplied by Grazin' Acres farm. Please see the following website for futher details regarding the Rally schedule, accomodations for out-of-towners, and to sign up for the Rights Workshop. http://rawmilkfreedomriders.wordpress.com/ If you need further information or would like to join the caravan of Minnesotans going to Wisconsin for this event, please contact me off list at mellomom345@... Thank you, and I look forward to Rallying with you in Wisconsin. Mel Olson
