Read about Dr Burzynski on Mercola. It's interesting.

Subject: OT: Natural/Complementary Cancer Treatments??

A friend of ours (about 36 or 37 years old) is currently going through the

diagnosis process for what may ultimately be colon or liver cancer if not

both. He has a tumor in his colon and several spots on his liver the biopsy

for which is not yet back. He's doing a Mayo consult on Wednesday. Anyway,

they've asked if I would help them put together a natural

treatment/complementary path that they can also do to help in healing but

also help mitigate the effects of chemo and/or radiation depending on what

the doctors recommend. So, I'm coming to you for some advice on this. My

initial thought is to cut out all grains and sugar as sugar feeds tumors.

And then a cleanse. The master cleanse for 10 days or is there a different

one I should look at for this situation? Do you have any specific resources

that you could point me toward? I know there are some great books out there

but I'd like recommendations for the ones that would be the most helpful for

this situation. I'll also be talking to them about Reiki, Homeopathy,

Acupuncture, Yoga, Meditation, etc.

Please email me OFFLIST if you have any resources, stories, etc. that would

be helpful in this journey. babymonkeytoes@...

Thank you!

  • 2 weeks later...

My wife was diagnosed with Liver cancer with 7 mets to the liver 4/4/10. She

is doing very well, but we are not out of the woods yet. . I just do not have

time to write a full response now, but will try in about a week. I wish we had

done two things first.

1) Contacted Dr. Cowan right away ( we waited almost a year ) . He is a

WAPF board member. He does very good phone coonsultations, so you do not have to

go to CA.

2) Contacted Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL. ( we waited almost

6 months). They do complementary treatments ( but the government won't let them

do alternative treatment) They are very accommodating on accepting insurance and

covering most of the co pays and out of network costs. They are more respectful

if you choose not to do chemo or radiation. If you need surgery, this is the

place to go. Sue has had two liver surgeries and we recommend Dr.

Komen Brown.

Send me your phone number, we can talk the end of next week.

Massive doses of glutathione a/o alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C complex

saturation, energy soup (green drink w/ raw kale, organic apple, sprouts

preferably buckwheat, sunflower; plus an avocado at the end), magnesium

citrate or other readily absorbed form, plus coffee enemas have helped a

lot of other people. alpha lipoic acid (works best w/ extra biotin) is a

classic for cleaning up an overloaded liver. KL

My dad received treatment for stage 4 lymphoma at the Cancer Treatment Center of

America in Zion, Il (north of Chicago). I cannot sing their praises loudly

enough! He had a team of providers that included a naturopath, nutritionist,

and oncologist. The nutritional advice he was given was sound and right in line

with most of the Weston Price philosophy. Even the cafeteria food was

excellent...mostly organic, local, fresh food. The cancer treatment was

excellent, and the naturopath worked closely with the oncologist to design a

treatment plan and to address side effects. The treatment center did all of the

hoop jumping with the insurance company. They also pay to fly my dad there

every time for treatment. My dad has had no more expenses than if he had seen

his local oncologist in Michigan. You can call the CTCA to get basic

information. They will pay to fly the patient and a caregiver to the center for

a consultation.

Feel free to contact me off list if you have more questions.
