Guest guest
The Aranesp (procrit) shot made a HUGE difference. I used to get winded too. I would wake up and just not have the motivation to even get to the gym, let along work out. When I did workout, I felt like I was moving through cement. It was very discouraging so I asked for the Aranesp and got it and within weeks started feeling much better. The shot hurts like a sun of a gun but it is worth it for how I feel and my being able to work out. Have you found out yet if you are anemic? If so, I recommend getting the Procrit, or whatever version they have of that, it will surely help you feel better. If you can't, I've heard that Folic Acid and B12 helps too sometimes. Guest guest
The procrit does sting on injection. I have found that the Interferon-Peg does not sting. Guest guest
I let it warm up for 20 minutes and do inject it slow but it still stings for me, not as much as when I did it cold. I think I learned that here and it does help a lot. The warming has helped most with the neupogen, it hardly stongs at all anymore now that I warm it up. When I inject I do a tiny, tiny amount and stop, wait for the pain to go away then a tiny bit more. Maybe it is just me because my pain tolerance has decreased over the years. Guest guest
At first the Neupo made all my bones achy all the time but then it went away and I haven't had any noticeable side effects from it at all. The aranesp gives me the most problems. It has increased my appetite so I really have to watch what I eat because I crave everything and it makes me fatigued the day I take it but other then that, I don't seem to have too much trouble with that either. I guess I am really lucky on all accounts. I certainly count my blessings everyday. Guest guest
Speaking of Neupo, I had a scare yesterday. I almost didn't get any of my meds when I went to the pharmacist. He said they weren't in the computer to be issued for another two weeks and I'm totally out of everything. He looked into it and apparently they had been prescribed for " once a month " instead of " every 4 weeks " so the issue date was being extended more and more as we had 5 week months, oy vey. He was very nice though and went in and managed somehow to change all the issue dates on my scripts, without my having to call the Doc, so that I would get this next batch on time. Hopefully I will get my next batch too, then I have an appointment with my Doc next month for new scripts on everything. I will have to let her know about the glitch in the system. I don't want to go through that every month. That's the VA for you... much relieved, Ally On 1/10/07, Jackie on <redjaxjm@...> wrote: Im glad you are passed the problems with the neupo,, it nearly drove me crazy! <4thMoon@...> wrote: At first the Neupo made all my bones achy all the time but then it went away and I haven't had any noticeable side effects from it at all.
