Thank you Kathy! I am eating lots of fats and lots of protein and trying to

keep my carbs down to 10 or less a day. I was eating 2 eggs and cut back to 1

and went from 2 packs of stevia a day to none. Its probably just water weight.

My pants are looser a little bit. I will have to get the books you recommended.

The recipies sound great! My hubby is also trying and lost 5 pounds just this

week.

I am a little leary about any coconut or almond flour just because I am just

starting out and those will add carbs.

I have no cravings, no headache, no energy loss either. I homeschool my 14 and

11 yr olds and also have a busy 2 yr old and have plenty of energy for them.

I have about 25 pounds to loose, I have already lost 20.

I have also been on the treadmill this week twice too for intensity intervals

runs. I felt good and strong!

I will get the books, thank you. You are an inspiration!!!

Are you referring to any specific books? If so, which ones? There are so many

out there.

I liked " The Art and Science of Low Carb Living " because it explains the

science behind this. " The New Atkins for a New You " gives more practical

how to information. Gene suggested " Why We Get Fat " and I like that too.

It has information from European research, pictures of twins where one is

obese, one normal weight, etc. I liked " Wheat Belly " because it goes into

how grain has changed over the years.

I didn't start eating this way to lose weight. My husband has polio and I

asked my doc what I could do to save his muscle as he ages? First thing he

said was eat 30 grams of protein 3 times daily. One egg is 6.2 grams of

protein give or take, depending on egg size. This means for breakfast we

needed 4 eggs scrambled with cheese in coconut oil. At first it was hard.

We couldn¹t imagine eating that much!

We didn't lose any weight, but we were stuffed. We were complaining about

how much protein and fat we had to eat while we ate our sourdough bread:)

Next doc had me read " The Art and Science of Low Carb Living. " Will had me

read " Wheat Belly. " Then doc said to cut carbs to 20 grams until we were at

the weight we wanted. Use all the healthy fats we wanted. Don't count

calories. Don't let yourself feel hungry.

You can't be hungry eating that much fat and protein. If I'm hungry, I

might have sliced mozzarella and pepperoni. Some folks eat 4 tablespoons of

coconut oil straight on low carb. My green beans are smothered in sour cream

and bacon. It's the carbs you have to cut, not limit yourself to one egg.

Many diets fail because people count calories and eat rabbit food only.

They always feel hungry. Low carb is different. I feel good on it. I

think the hardest part is no one has written a WAP low carb cookbook. I

joined Atkins (it's free) and they sent me some nasty candy bars I wouldn't

feed my dog. You have to understand the basics of low carb, then apply what

you know about real food.

Some people lose a pound a day on this diet, that's not me. I have stopped

checking my weight because I know I'm losing weight at the speed my body is

comfortable with. What impressed me the most is my husbands pant size went

down and he's in a wheelchair. When he was a teen in the hospital, the

doctors would put all the polio kids on 800 calories a day and they still

didn't lose weight. We will eat low carb the rest of our lives.

You need a carb/protein counter to do this.
