Guest guest
I keep my own flocks because I wanted better eggs than I could buy from readily available sources. My extra eggs are all spoken for at the moment but I have another flock that will start laying in January so by late January or so I should have quite a few dozen available per week. The eggs are from truly pastured hens on 5 acres of completely chemical free land. They are 100% SOY FREE. In addition to foraging, their diet is 100% certified organic feed (field peas are the protein source instead of soy) and soaked/sprouted whole grains. For Omega 3 enhancement, they are fed organic golden flax, fishmeal certified for organic use, and my own homegrown duckweed which has an amino profile as good as animal protein and is provend to boost Omega 3 in eggs. Their water is from a tested, mineral rich well. I get $5 per dozen. We routinely eat them raw. One of my 3 year old little girl's favorite things is when mommy gives her the extra yolks left over from baking. Just a sprinkle of salt and pepper and she gobbles them up. The yolks are a orange to deep orange and so strong that you can handle them like little balls without breaking them. Well fed hens produce amazing eggs!
