Guest guest
Hi All, I have a 17 year old son who became autistic after receiving the MMR booster at age 12. Every year there has been a slow, continual regression. We are chelating him, now, for mercury poisoning from the vaccines. I was considering giving him Nordic Naturals to improve his eye contact and speech. He has great receptive language, still. We were told that the measles part of the MMR depletes his vitamin A, and that he is unable to effectively use the vitamin A palmitate, because of this condition. We were told to use cod liver oil to improve his eye contact, speech, and immune system. From what I have been reading in this group, it seems that you all recommend the Pro-EFA as being a better choice instead of the regular cod liver oil, for helping someone to talk. I thought I would try the Pro-EFA, first. Does Nordic Naturals make a good tasting Pro-EFA, now? He won't take capsules. Also, how much would my son need to take daily? He weighs approximately 175 pounds. I would appreciate your input in this matter. Thank you. Rose
Guest guest
I've just recently joined this group as well. We don't use Pro EFA, I couldn't find t at the nordic naturals site, any way I did find coromega from the http://www.apraxia.cc/ sites list of EFA resources. I had bought a store brand right away and tried to just mix it in with our son's juice or whatever and he quickly started refusing anything it was in it had a very fishy taste. I have found the coromega supplemnt to be almost good tasting, it reminds me of one of those creamy orange lifesavers. It is a paste or gel consistance and we mix it with orange yogurt or sometimes just be itself. their site is http://www.coromega.com/ Does anyone else in the group use it?? I can't say for sure it is as good as anything else as I have really only used it, and only for about 2 weeks now. Though we have noticed some change in our son, we haven't noticed the dramatic changes others have reported. I will post to the group if we do. I must also say my son has not been diagnosed w/ apraxia. He is 3 1/2 and has only a few words he does babble and sign some. He has been diagnosed with Delayed Myelination, Arnold Chiari Malformation both are neurological the first has no treatment, and the second can be treated with surgery which my son had about a year ago. I am hopefull the Omega 3 will help with his myelin development but I am kind of on my own with it. > > Hi All, I have a 17 year old son who became autistic after receiving > the MMR booster at age 12. Guest guest
I had already given up months ago on using cod liver oil for my son because it upset his stomach so much, but then I remembered about this site and the success many have with the pro-efa and other fish oils. Thanks for the Coromega web site link. I just ordered a free sample so my son can try it. At this point, I think I am going to have to go with what he can tolerate, but,of course, making sure the oil is free of contaminants. I am checking out the different oils and where to get them. I also think that having a third party to test for purity is important as I don't want him getting any more heavy metals. I emailed the company and asked them about their third party testing since I did not see anything about it on their web site. Rose > I've just recently joined this group as well.
