Very nice. Though the text is cut off in every second line. Who designed the website? e also needs a better picture of herself than that one. Otherwise it looked great.

Is the school operating now or still in preparatory stages? I want to know all about it.

e just got her PhD, based on her SAA-RAD communication

training regimen. I can assure you she doesn't run around

telling people she's Doctor e . Actually she

probably does, just to say " I can't believe I really did it! "

Who designed the website?"The text is okay when I read it, but I remember having a similar problem once and someone told me how to adjust 'something' on my computer so that all the text was fit into the window available. I wish I could be more help.Dr. , e, is an experienced website designer. As I understand, she and her friends are responsible for the design, which, incidentally has just been released. It is brand new, and conceivably has some bugs yet to be resolved.> "My apologies. :-)"None needed. I know she is so very proud to have achieved this goal after such a long and tedious struggle, raising two teenage boys, a husband, housekeeping, two jobs, advanced education, as well as making remarkable progress establishing a school for children both on and off 'the spectrum'. I am so very proud of her, and that was the basis of my remark. I know that e will not toot her own horn and so I am proud to let you all know in this way of her remarkable achievement.  Rainbow

A doctorate does not confirm results; a doctorate confirms having

attained at least minimum educational requirements and the ability

to successfully argue a dissertation. Remarks like yours, Rainbow,

show that you are easily impressed by initials that may precede or

follow a person's name. They're just letters.

That has achieved a goal she set out for herself is good. I

have no problem with people achieving success.

That I am not particularly impressed with fancy titles or initials

does not make me a bully, Rainbow.

Perhaps you have not had the good fortune of traveling in some of the

incredible environemnts I have found myself, both as a child and as an

adult. This being the case, I can understand why you might be

impressed with titles and initials.

However, your insistence that, because I am unimpressed by fancy

titles, I am a bully says far more about you than it says about me.

That's a wonderful list, Rainbow, however none of those require a

doctorate in order to be successful. I'm glad you're impressed with

e and her accomplishments.

I'm certain you'll agree that her doctorate has nothing whatsoever

to do with her successes as a woman, as a mother, as a wife, as a

student, as an educator, as a healer, as a leader, as a visionary or

as any other position she holds.

Therefore, while the title of " Dr " impresses you, you can see where

the title itself is not what makes e the person she is. It's

a measuring stick by which her education has been measured.

Raven

P.S. Sarcasm and haughtiness do not really suit your style,

Rainbow. ;-)

Raven:

>>> Fancy titles as a result of post-secondary education don't impress me, results do.

Raven, I find that a very snotty remark, almost bitchy, if you pardon me saying so.

Anyone who knows me knows that I've never been impressed by titles either, but e IS out there achieving results and that I find very impressive. It really saddens me when Aspies can't be supportive of each other's endeavours. Rainbow:

>> I was simply letting her friends know that she has just now finally achieved her long term dreamed of goal of completing her education. And that's how I took it. I think it's wonderful! It will certainly help her in her efforts to run the daVinci Academy since one is nothing in this modern world without a diploma, no matter how much you may have learned on your own.

Raven:

> Remarks like yours, Rainbow, show that you are easily impressed by initials that may precede or follow a person's name. They're just letters.

Raven, I think you may have misinterpreted mine and Rainbow's exchange and took the subtle message literally (that not unusual among Aspies). You made the interpretation that Rainbow is impressed by titles when he is mainly impressed that his our friend has achieved her goal. There is a difference.

And I still don't understand why you would want to put a fellow Aspie down for her achievements instead of being happy for her.

When someone says (or writes) 'that's DOCTOR so-and-so to you'

there's very little to misinterpret, Inger.

And I didn't put her down for her achievements. I stated clearly to

Rainbow that achievements are not as a result of a doctorate

degree. The comment 'that's DOCTOR so-and-so to you' clearly shows

that the degree is much more impressive to the writer than the other

achievements that are not necessarily reliant upon the doctorate.

I put no one down for their education, successes or achievements.

That's YOUR misinterpretation of my comments.

Rainbow,

Raven was expressing her opinion.

I have been to college and have a degree myself. Lots of people get

degrees. Even one of my roommates, a cocaine snorting, pot smoking

fellow who got a DUI and who mouthed off to the cops who arrested him

got his degree...after five years (all the fraternizing at the frat

house prolonged his stay.

Anyone can get a degree.

That doesn't mean I don't think it was a great achievement for

to get hers. But I do think Raven is entitled to her opinion.

Incorrect. As Rainbow has explained, he just wanted to inform of her

success, and said it tongue-in-cheek, I'm sure. I don't understand how you

can keep misinterpreting and disvelieving him after he already explained

this. Can you not accept that you missed the subtlety of this communication,

Raven, you wrote: " Fancy titles as a result of post-secondary education

That's clearly derogatory and down-putting in my book, and not much unlike

the sort of reception Debbie got at AI after she had managed to win over the

authorities by engaging media to review her case. :-(

Inger, do we put down because some of his posts have

Raven is in a position to know better than most of us that having a

Inger,

You accused Raven of being rude. Look at your comment below.

It's a jab, and it was given by you and directed at me because I

disagree with your opinion.

I have noticed that whenever someone disagrees with something you

feel STRONGLY about, not only do you disagree with it, but you throw

in those jabs.

You have the right to disagree. Not jab.

No, Inger, I don't agree to that. Some Aspies, like Raven and myself,

don't judge people on fancy titles but on accomplishments (results).

I also saw the addition of " Dr " to le's name as here we have

a person that should be judged by her positions and titles instead

of her accomplishments.

has been telling us about her study. Rainbow let us know she managed

to finish it, besides all the other things she does and shares his

enthusiasm with us.

I have never seen anyone here being very impressed about titles. But that

was not the issue of Rainbows post either.

It is really nice if someone from us is capable of accomplishing things.

To share being glad for someone, is a way of being supportive.

OK, I understand that missing subtle cues is part of the AS dx. I already

stated that. But when Rainbow EXPLAINS how he meant it, she should accept

his word for it. Not doing so is about akin to calling him a liar on top of

all the other things he's been accused of lately, and I won't stand for any

Neither was e. And nor was Rainbow - even if it may have SEEMED like

he did. But I know his friendly, humorous, tounge-in-cheek style by now so I

took it the way he MEANT it and replied in turn, adding a smiley to show

that I got the message.

> Raven is in a position to know better than most of us that having a

college degree doesn't really mean much but results do. It's that simple.

That's totally besides the point and very uneccessary - as well as rude - to

point out. In this world, a degree DOES make it a lot easier to get

somewhere, especially if you also have talent and drive. Temple Grandin is a

good example of that. Of coruse it's no guarantee that you'll get anywhere

anyway, but I'm sure it helps. I'm sure Raven herself would not be hired as

a teacher without the proper credentials, so I really don't see what she

could possibly object to e getting hers or to e's friends

feeling happy for her.
