Guest guest
Does anyone have all of the following they'd be willing to share with me? I'd prefer if you had all of them so that I don't have to drive all over the place with my baby, but if you only have one or two, that's fine (I'd rather have something than nothing). I can wait too if you think you'll have them after they multiply. I'm sure I could find something to trade with you. Feel free to email me directly. Guest guest
Hi Shara, I have all the starters you are looking for below as well as yogurt starters, buttermilk, and some sourdough starters but they are currently living in the deep freeze. If you like we can attempt to meet and I will gladly give you some or you can have them mailed to you, just pay me back for the postage please. For buttermilk I have " regular " goat and cow buttermilk that is reculturable, you just mix 1 part of the buttermilk with 4 parts of new milk. I also have a Bulgarian buttermilk that is full fat plus the extra Bulgarian cultures. That is made in cow milk but you can switch to goat if needed. I won't have that again until next week. The yogurt I have in the fridge right now is the Bulgarian one, it seems to be the most well liked by the kids. I have many others in the freezer too, I can get some others made up next week as well. Buttermilk: This is not the whey left over from making butter, this is the soured milk that will reculture itself in 24 hours or less. The Bulgarian one was given to me by some friends and they have had it in their family for years (generations). All the yogurt and buttermilk cultures are live and will keep going until you kill them off! They do well frozen and brought back to life when you need them too. I make a mother culture and freeze that to make all my raw cultures. That seems to work the best and keep things basically the same for me.
