Guest guest
We've had the West Nile Virus up here near Chicago for a few years now. The first year, it took all the crows in our neighborhood, all the blue jays, and there are a couple of other kinds that have died out too (I know because I have not heard their calls in a few years). The blue jays have come back, and we do have a crow or two now and then, but it's taking a while. If the aviain flu came here, I'd hate to think what would happen if the wild birds got it. That in addition to West Nile would severely reduce the numbers of birds around here. Coincidentally, mosquitos have increased noticably since the bird population went down, even though they spray for them more. Tom Administrator " This will sound horrible to many, but as far as avian flu goes, I'm more concerned about the birds than the humans. Far too many of us around right now, anyway. Am I awful?
