Guest guest
Thank you to the cheese slave for the fantastic gelatin recipe. I used it to make a poke cake and it turned out beautifully! I can not remember who recommended using liquid chlorophyll for green food coloring, but not only was it beautiful, but it tasted delicious! (I wonder if my body is craving it?) I used cherry juice for red, and it was not so beautiful. It was nearly brown. Does anyone have any other ideas for red? thanks, Carol
Guest guest
I did some with tart cherry and it was a nice red. Although I was going for flavor versus color. LOL cranberry tends to be a pretty bright red color too but not as sweet - but maybe a cranberry juice blend? Guest guest
Second the cranberry, Jaxi. I just made some gelatin with some cranberry juice (actually leftover water from boiling my cranberries for the dehydrator) and it sure is a nice red color. Perhaps it would hold its color well in a cake. I've heard that beet juice works so well that people use it dye their cosmetics.
