It is legal to purchase raw cows milk. The issue is transportation. The MN

statute states it must be obtained on the farm.

Hi Lori,

Goat and cow milk are governed by the same laws. Also covered is milk from

sheep, camels, horses, and yaks.

Goat milk should taste good--not like a barn or how a billy goat smells. I have

a few links below as far as nutritional differences between the two. I have not

read all the links so research any info on them before believing it is the

gospel please!

Goat milk (and meat) are used by people all over the world, much greater than

that of cow. This is probably due to goats being able to survive and thrive in

areas cows would not do so very well in.

Making yogurt out of goat milk will be a thinner product than that of cow. You

can either use it that way or add gelatin or dry milk to thicken it up.

If you make carmel out of the goat milk (Cajeta), it has a much richer taste

than that of cows milk caramel which I made tonight. I guess the best way to

compare those two is the goat caramel is for the adults, the cow caramel is for

the kids! :-)

You will need a lot of goat milk to get enough cream to make goat butter. Even

with a cream separator.

Nothing is better than goat milk ice cream!
