Guest guest
I just got off the phone with Joe Frost. He didn't have surgery today after all. When he went in for his appointment on Monday Dr. K decided to admit him to the hospital and put in a central line...started IV feeding him protein and building him up. They left the decision about surgery open until this morning. After blood levels were drawn Dr. K decided not to do surgery today...Joe will stay in the hospital the next 2-3 days. At that time Dr. K will either decide to do surgery or release him for a couple weeks of IV feeding at the hotel before doing surgery...just depends on how fast Joe responds to the feedings. Dr. K told Joe that he was afraid to do surgery at this point...he said he was worried that his intestines would be mealy/mushy and wouldn't sew up and heal well...therefore the feeding and trying to get Joe in a better condition for surgery. Joe stated how grateful he was to Dr. K. The Dr. has rearrainged his schedule to accomodate Joe and making his health a priority. The great news...Joe sounded wonderful. He said he didn't know if it was the IV feeding or just finally getting into Dr. K's hands and feeling safe and hopeful again...but in his words he feels " a World Better today " He say he feels stronger and has more energy. So for the next couple days Joe is in Delano Regional Medical Center Room 309..661-725-4800. When he is not in the Hospital he will be at Comfort Inn Suites in Bakersfield.
