Guest guest
e, you have the sympathy of the entire group. It boggles my mind to think of a living situation with adults that are so uninterested in nutritional quality. ALL DISEASES ARE NUTRITIONAL. How can anyone that is an adult be blind to that? Especially since we sort of owe it to our spouse to stay as healthy and attractive as possible. I guess ignorance is bliss, and almost everyone wants to retain their childlike thinking as long as possible. Perhaps no one " wakes up " to thinking with adult responsibility until they have had their world destroyed, a loved one with cancer, a heart attack, a deformed or lost child, or a spouse with a fatal disease. When a mate refuses to wake up over such a central issue, I don't know what to do or say. Personally, I'd take out a million dollar life insurance policy on him and feed him Krispy Kream donuts every day, buy him packs of cigarettes, and get him a Barcalounger, flat screen TV and cable. With a little encouragement, it probably won't take long. The irony is that great food tastes great! And you feel good when you eat it! Good food slows aging and degeneraton, it creates a powerful aura of energy around you! You will do better at work and make more money because you can think and have more energy than the coffee, cigarette and donut slugs around you. You will lose excess weight, you have better digestion, better sleep, better sex, it's a true life changing experience. One possibility, assuming you like the guy, is to start small. Use flavor and aroma as the " selling points " not health. !00% grass-fed beef steaks BBQ chicken from pastured organic birds 100% grass-fed burgers with bleu cheese Fresh corn Pastured pork bratwursts with fermented sauerkraut Deviled eggs from pastured eggs French fries made in organic lard Fruit smoothies Home-made yogurt and granola Baked potatoes with sour cream, gobs of butter Raw milk Popcorn with brewers yeast and gobs of butter You get the idea. Read Jo 's fantastic cookbook WHY GRASSFED IS BEST. Good Luck with either plan! Will Winter
Guest guest
Oh, don't get me wrong, he likes to EAT quality meat/food--just doesn't think it matters except at checkout (he truly has no idea why he gets intestinal upset when he eats food not cooked by me!). And won't adjust his schedule to help get good food. He is not creative in his eating, but he would eat everything you listed (and I usually cook like that when I can). I just have to shove aside the candy bars and Diet Coke to get to the beets and pork chops in the fridge. I have quit buying junk for him, over time. No more Jif, No more Aunt Jemima. Either he eats organic PB and uses real maple syrup, or he gets nothing. Did I mention his FAVORITE dinner is my grass fed steaks, sliced potatoes fried in cast iron in butter and coconut oil, and roasted garden carrots glazed in local honey? His second favorite is Kraft Mac N Cheese...<sigh> Still--I do what I can would love any resources for being able to go get quality eggs/chickens/etc. e On Fri, Oct 28, 2011 at 10:49 AM, holisticminnesota <holistic@...>wrote: > ** > > > e, you have the sympathy of the entire group. Guest guest
Will, you make me laugh!! I sort of did a similar thing with my husband when he was smoking. We had two little kids with asthma, he would come home from work smelling like smoke and two minutes later the kids would be in asthma attack mode! He didn't get it. I made him take out a very pricey insurance policy just to protect myself and the kids!!! He did eventually quit smoking, but we still have the insurance policy! I am so bad! Guest guest
We love the farm on wheels eggs (farmonwheels.net). The chickens are raised without soy. > > > ** > > > > > > e, you have the sympathy of the entire group.
