Yes, peppermint tea works great for light nausea. Your advice is sound. I drink very little soda and no processed meat. I DO eat canned soup sometimes, tho. I really prefer home made. I eat healthy and I walk on my treadmill at least 3 times a week

and rest a lot. I think my lifestyle is healthy. I love apple cider and cranberry mix juices. My one failing is that I love peptomints and will eat as many as six in an evening. That's not a lot, but I do it every day. SharonJackie on <redjaxjm > wrote: EXCELLENT ,, excellent advise! <marvindamartian05 > wrote: Sharon, I am not a big proponent of "products", especially if you are tryingto accomplish what is essentially a simple act. So, I did not buy anyof those "liver cleanse" products in the stores! Many of them justencourage diarrhea, and you don't need to spend $12 on THAT!I am not saying that they

are "bad", it's just that if you take sometime to study all of the labels, they mainly contain things such assilymarin (milk thistle), dandelion, choline and lots of other thingsthat I have already integrated into my diet and supplement "plan". Iam not advocating that you do what I do (check with your doctor), andLord knows I an not a health professional, but I read a lot. And Ikeep to the KISS principle.I learned that the function of the liver is to cleanse, so you wouldbe "cleansing the cleanser" if you do what many of these "livercleanse" products advise. Sounds kinda funny! Also it's a short termsolution. So what I did was make the liver better able to it's job bycommitting to a lifestyle change that will be perpetual...not just aweekend "when-I-can-stay-near-the-bathroom" type of thing. Of course,in the beginning, that's exactly what it is, as you are taking inmainly liquid to try and flush out

as many toxins that way as you can. There are some books out there (such as Dr. Cabot's book), andlots of good info in them, but often the author has some side agenda, such as selling their own "liver tonic" or what have you. A reallygreat book (and it does also recommend certain products, but the tiein isn't obvious) is The Hep C Help Book. One of the authors, Dr. Gishis an ESTEEMED liver doc up in San Francisco, and the other author isa TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine) expert. They mention a lot ofexcellent food for the liver. So, get a book that not only talks about"detoxing", but about "liver health" in particular. You aren't analcoholic or drug addict just trying to clean yourself up after abinge, you are a person with a chronic illness who is making alifestyle change. It's not only by eliminating waste that your body cleanses itself oftoxins, but through the pores as well. If you can get to a sauna

(TheHep C Help book advocates a dry sauna, I believe - as opposed to asteam bath), it is great to do this. Exercising, to the extentpossible, will also make you sweat. Obviously, while you do all ofthis expelling of toxins, you are also putting good stuff into yourbody, such as water of course, but I also take about 2 oz ofwheatgrass a day (fresh squeezed). All of the grasses (barley grass, wheat grass, etc.) are great for the liver. If you can't get freshsqueezed, go to the health food store and get some "super green" orother green foods supplement, or Odwalla Super Food juice.I am writing too much, sorry to ramble...just one last thing...soda(cokes for those in the South, pop for mid-westerners) is one of theWORST things you can put into your body, along with processed meatswhich contain nitrates. The junk in these "foods" stays in your fatcells and contibute to the development of cancer, deplete the

calciumin your bones, etc. Get this junk OUT of you, and DO NOT put anymorein! I used to love my Diet Pepsi, but I love my pomagranate juice evenmore because of the good it does for my body.Hope that helps!> Kerri~> > I was feeling just like you describe until a few week ago - I detoxed> my body and started taking supplements and vitamins, etc., and this is> the most important thing...drinking LOTS of water. I didnt care much for the tea , but what worked well for me was a glass of water with a peppermint stick disolved in it . Your advice is sound. I drink very little soda and no processed meat. I DO eat canned soup sometimes, tho. I really prefer home made. I eat healthy and I walk on my treadmill at least 3 times a week and rest a lot. Many of them justencourage diarrhea, and you don't need to spend $12 on THAT!I am not saying that they are "bad", it's just that if you take sometime to study all of the labels, they mainly contain things such assilymarin (milk thistle), dandelion, choline and lots of other thingsthat I have already integrated into my diet and supplement "plan". Iam not advocating that you do what I do (check with your doctor), andLord knows I an not a health professional, but I read a lot. And Ikeep

to the KISS principle.I learned that the function of the liver is to cleanse, so you wouldbe "cleansing the cleanser" if you do what many of these "livercleanse" products advise. Sounds kinda funny! Also it's a short termsolution. So what I did was make the liver better able to it's job bycommitting to a lifestyle change that will be perpetual...not just aweekend "when-I-can-stay-near-the-bathroom" type of thing. Of course,in the beginning, that's exactly what it is, as you are taking inmainly liquid to try and flush out as many toxins that way as you can. Gishis

an ESTEEMED liver doc up in San Francisco, and the other author isa TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine) expert. If you can get to a sauna (TheHep C Help book advocates a dry sauna, I believe - as opposed to asteam bath), it is great to do this. Exercising, to the extentpossible, will also make you sweat. Obviously, while you do all ofthis expelling of toxins, you are also putting good stuff into yourbody, such as water of course, but I also take about 2 oz ofwheatgrass a day (fresh squeezed). All of the grasses

(barley grass, wheat grass, etc.) are great for the liver. The junk in these "foods" stays in your fatcells and contibute to the development of cancer, deplete the calciumin your bones, etc. Abandonment applies to a doc who turfs you without providing for continuing medical care honey. We learned all about that in paramedic school because we too had to make sure to turn the patient over to someone of at least my training or higher meaning that I could only turn over my patient to another paramedic or nurse or doc,, never to an emt basic.. and a doc cannot stop treating you as a patient

without making sure you have another doc to treat you OR HE IS guilty of abandonment! Dont let this jackass push you around honey! please let us know how things turn out! hugs jaxSheena <mom4possums2002 > wrote: And I have to find a new GI before I ever consider it, can you EVEN imagine..
