Guest guest
It sure has potential for allot of disease sufferers RE: vote here on stem cell You do not have to kill another to do stem cell research. They are using stem cells from belly fat in some cases (Oh, PLEASE, can I donate?) And another branch of stem cell research uses blood drawn form the umbilical cord----AFTER birth. This research, especially the stem cells that have been drawn from umbilical cords has been used to grow new liver sections, and in time might grow new livers in complete for those of us that might need them. With no disrespect to you, or to your opinion, I feel this is a good place for this discussion. Nikki Sorry but I am not a supporter of stem cell research. I cant see killling one person to save another..this really isnt the place for this is it??? Guest guest
Well, My personal opinion on abortion is "try some thing else like birth control,adoption,ect... Having said this , You can't unring the bell. Our laws permit for abortion and this is a fact. Armed with this knowledge,Iwould hope that the little Angles would'nt mind some research done. There are also many still born births that benefit stem cell reseach. Also, up untill recently I checked the box organ donor on my drivers license. So I guess my point is that I really don't have a problem with science at all. I had taken anatamy & physiology in college and was fortunate enough to have worked on a cadaver. I was very greatfull to the man who donated his body to science, and respected him for doing so. I realize the moral dilema that this may cause for some folks. But as I've said, you can't unring the bell. > > This is a good place to discuss topic's like this , especially since we can benefit from the research being done ..> RE: vote here on stem cell> > > You do not have to kill another to do stem cell research. Guest guest
I felt like that for many years and then I found out that we can still give organs to each other . Many a hep c patient has had to have transplants that have come from other hep c pos patients . Usually these organs are the kidneys , heart, lungs etc ....never liver though lol RE: vote here on stem cell> > > > > > You do not have to kill another to do stem cell research. Guest guest
, You CAN still be a donor to those who already have hep c,, I am still a donor but I make sure that everyone knows that I have hep c even tho I am svr now almost 4 years,, but I was told by my old friends who I was a paramedic with who now run one of the tissue banks for transplant that those with hep c CAN still be a donor because your liver might still be in better shape than a person who is in end stage liver disease from hep c and it might very well extend their life long enough to get a healthy liver too... so dont think that you cannot be a donor,, you can,, and I am still one!CHRISTINE <novara12002@...> wrote: I would'nt want to give anyone the suprise package that I recieved from a blood transfusion(hep c) in the form of a organ. I don't want to pass this disease onto anyone else. And since my doc wants me to wait untill their is better treatment out which I could tolerate, I felt obligated to remove myself as an organ donor. > > > > This is a good place to discuss topic's like this , especially since we can benefit from the research being done ..> > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Nikki Cowan > > Hepatitis C > > Sent: Saturday, November 18, 2006 5:42 PM> > Subject: RE: vote here on stem cell> > > > > > You do not have to kill another to do stem cell research.
