If you support stem cell research, my local Republican congressman, who opposes it, has for some reason put a poll on his web site and the pro's are stomping the anti's. Maybe you'd like to chime in. Tim, I agree with you on this one. Stem cell research should not be a

moral question, but a medical one. If someone had a possible stem

cell cure for HCV and endstage liver disease, Id be right there

trying to save my life, which after all is what Doctors are supposed

to do.

Many people have been saved with cord blood stem cells. It is wonderful what it has done for folks, and yes I have read about the belly fat and would be glad to donate too, Nikki!! I have lots of belly fat. LOL They have improved stem cell research so much in the past few years and I think that it is worth taking a look at the new research. I, for another one appreciate Tim bringing it up. I know it can be a touchy subject for many, and I also agree with Nikki and keep an open mind.. Many lives are going to be saved because of it. I do believe they just need to be monitored to make sure they continue to do their research in a responsible manner.. Did you ever see the movie called "Foot lose"? Having an opinion does not make anyone amoral. There is alot of reseach being done that has nothing to do with abortion. Please keep an open mind to this fact with regards to other members. For some of us who can"t have treatment, this may turn out to be our only hope for recovery.

Adding my opinion to this.....I am a huge fan of this type of research, but my understanding of it is that it is NOT perfected yet and the growth of the cells does not always follow a desired path. If the kinks can be ironed out, what a boon to the medical world and to us, HepC victims, in particular.
