Guest guest
I would absolutesly LOVE to have acupuncture done, but it is a 90 mile round trip ;( Nikki I've been taking the following herbs as well as having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy and endurance i have. Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb, Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf, Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus, Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half, i can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time with myself, with no interference. Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx. __._,_.___
Guest guest
Hi , I had my first acupuncture a few days ago, and already I feel an improvement in my energy level. Also, I had muscle pain related to the stress of my diagnosis, and that has improved as well! My Chinese Medicine practictioner showed my some exercises (probably based in Qi Dong), and when I see him again on Monday, we will be talking about herbs. I just started Astralagus, and have also been treating with other " western " herbs. I agree that is was very relaxing, once I got over the " newness " of the experience. Are you on tx now? I am planning to start in Janaury, and wonder if the acupuncture helps with the sides? > > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well as having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy and endurance i have. > > Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb, Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf, Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root > > Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus, Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia > > I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half, i can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time with myself, with no interference. > > Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx. > > >
Guest guest
Hi susan... glad you feel that the acupuncture is helping you too. I also started taking Qi Dong classes, which i feel really helped alot also. I am sure that a big part of it has to do with the fact that I feel I am taking an active part in making myself well and keeping myself well. I finished treatment last March. I was clear from the 4th week of tx forward (24 weeks). When I did my 3 month blood test after stopping tx, it came back with a higher VL then i ever began with, and two weeks after that it was even higher. Of course no doctor ever told me that if it came back, it would come back with a vengence. I started really looking into a more eastern approach to dealing with HCV... since China has a very large part of its population infected with this nasty little virus and they have been treating it for quite awhile. This site http://www.hepcchallenge.org/choices/chinese.htm had some interesting info. My acupuncturist is treating several HCV patients (and i live in a small community). One decided not to use western methods at all, one went thru standard western tx and was using acupuncture and herbs during and after and i believe she is still 'clear', and me. There are several others, but i dont have their background. Obviously they all are finding some help with acupuncture and herbs or they wouldnt continue the use of these things...... I had a great massuese (sp?) during my tx and it really did help me... wish i had gone to acupuncture during my tx.... because i do believe it would have helped. I am sure that the acupuncture will help you through your tx... and i wish you the best of luck..... rachel > >> > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well as> having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have> noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy and> endurance i have.> > > > Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb,> Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf,> Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root> > > > Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus,> Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia> > > > I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the> things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half, i> can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time with> myself, with no interference. > > > > Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these> alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx.> > > > > >>

Guest guest
hi ally.... sorry to hear about the late side fx you are feeling. drink tons more water... it really really does help with the headaches and what i found worked for me was keeping tylenol in my system. whatever amount your dr. says you can take...if its 2 every 4 hours or 6 hours, TAKE IT....every 4 or 6 hours... the buildup really helped me fight off some of the lesser flu-like symptoms. re: massage.... it helped me.... and like i said... a big part of it was the fact that i was " doing it for me " . that was my time.... no one elses... my time to think about me, to care for me, to pamper me, to let someone else heal me, without thinking about the dogs or kids or partner or work. i would not have gotten thru tx without it (well thats not really true, but you get my drift) and damn girl! you are more then halfway thru tx, arent you? i remember when you started! take care, rachel > > > > > > > > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well as > > > having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have > > > noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy and > > > endurance i have. > > > > > > > > Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb, > > > Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf, > > > Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root > > > > > > > > Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus, > > > Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia > > > > > > > > I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the > > > things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half, i > > > can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time with > > > myself, with no interference. > > > > > > > > Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these > > > alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
, It sounds like you are a very " together " person. Tahnks so much for the encouragement! I have been reading " The Hepatitis C Help Book " , by Misha Ruth Cohen and Gish (i believe they both practice in San Francisco), which explains their philosphy of combining Western and Eastern medicine in the treatment of hep c. I will check out the website you mentioned as well. Are you planning to ever try tx again? What's your genotype? > > > > > > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well as > > having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have > > noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy and > > endurance i have. > > > > > > Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb, > > Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf, > > Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root > > > > > > Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus, > > Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia > > > > > > I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the > > things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half, i > > can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time with > > myself, with no interference. > > > > > > Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these > > alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx. > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
susan: " together " .....i've been accused of a lot of things.....LOL!!!! i am a 2B. i started out with a 688,000 vl and normal alt/ast levels. dropped to 14,600 within 1 week of tx and to 0 within 4 weeks. came back 3 months after finishing tx with a vl of 3,300,000 and within 2 weeks after that it was 4,260,000. se la vie'. You know the saying about never saying never? well i won't say it... but right now i have no intention of going thru tx again. it took it's toll on me and my family. I'm 53, liver in good shape and it's not going to be HepC that is gonna kill me. I'm going to do my best to keep myself healthy, keep my liver extremely happy and enjoy life to the fullest. I believe wholeheartedly in quality over quantity... but.... the way tx is changing so rapidy... who knows what the future may hold? thanx so much for asking! > > > > > > > > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well as > > > having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have > > > noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy and > > > endurance i have. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Ally, I forget: why are you doing 72 weeks? Are you a 1a or 1b? > > > > > > > > > > > > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well > > as > > > > > having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have > > > > > noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy > > and > > > > > endurance i have. > > > > > > > > > > > > Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb, > > > > > Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf, > > > > > Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root > > > > > > > > > > > > Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus, > > > > > Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia > > > > > > > > > > > > I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the > > > > > things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half, > > i > > > > > can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time > > with > > > > > myself, with no interference. > > > > > > > > > > > > Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these > > > > > alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
jackie.... i dont consider what i am doing as "giving up". I am getting positive results from the acupuncture and the chinese herbs and for "right now" that is what is fine with me. i dont have alot of damage and maybe at some point in the future I might tx again... but for now.... there is no way i would put my body through that again.....(***note: this is just me... some may be able to tx again and deal with it.... personally, at this time, i cant). > > > > >> > > > > Hepatitis CI've been taking the following herbs as well> as> > > > having acupuncture done 1x a week for the last 4 months and have> > > > noticed a VERY BIG difference in how i feel and how much energy> and> > > > endurance i have.> > > > >> > > > > Clear Heat: Isatis extract leaf and root, Oldenlandia herb,> > > > Lonicera flower, Prunella herb, Andrographis herb, Laminaria leaf,> > > > Viola herb and root, Cordyceps fruiting body, Licorice Root> > > > >> > > > > Bupleurum & Gardenia Tablets: Bupleurum, Red peony, Astragalus,> > > > Oldenalandia, Gardenia, Forsythia> > > > >> > > > > I am very pleased with going to acupuncture.... and one of the> > > > things i enjoy the most is that for an hour to an hour and a half,> i> > > > can lay there, relaxing, (or meditating) and spend some real time> with> > > > myself, with no interference.> > > > >> > > > > Hope that info is helpful to anyone that chooses to add these> > > > alternatives to their lifestyle or to their current tx.> > > > >> > > > > > > > > >> > > >> > >> >> > > > > > > Jackie>
Guest guest
Thanx for your words Jackie.... i believe keeping an open mind on all this stuff is sooooooooooooooooooo important.
