It would be a little bit hard to convince people that the Devil doesn't exist because there've been several cases of supernatural forces, several cases where people have been demon possessed (one of which happened when I was there), and Satanic games like the Ouija board. I've thought of an experiment to try with one of those, but my fear of messing with Satanic toys has always prevented me from trying it. My experiment would involve this. I'd get it to pretend to be my dad or someone who passed away, and I'd ask it a question. After that, I'd ask why and keep asking why after each response. I've heard however, that one of the options a Ouija board has in giving a response is "Goodbye." Would it probably do that if I tried my "why" game? Guest guest Posted March 23, 2006 Report Share Posted March 23, 2006 Actually I have seen a lot of fanatical self proclaimed " christians " do immoral/unethical things and when they are caught at it and if they can't weasel their way out say " Oh I repent... and " God " will forgive me... " and then go right back to the immoral/unethical behaviors... These same people always seem to be the most eager to attack non-believes because they are non-believers even when they act a moral/ethical manner all the time... As an prime example I give you Jimmy Swaggert and the tele-evangelical industry in general... It seem to me that doing the right thing because it is moral/ethic to start with is more noble than doing the wrong thing, claiming you're sorry, and doing it again... I'd really like to know if anyone had any other responses I made regarding my evidence as to the reality of the Devil. I was told that there are logical explanations behind all my examples, but I'd be very interested in hearing what they could be. As far as cases of supernatural forces go, I know a lot of times, they are just hoaxes, so there could be logical explanations behind those. But what about the case where a girl I knew had a demon inside her at a church camp that I went to? I was there, and I remember hearing some growling that couldn't have been made by a human. The best explanation I could think of that someone would try to make as an argument is that it was staged and the growl was made by some sort of recording. However, I went to this church camp all through my teen years; and that was only a one time occurence. If it was staged, I would've thought they would've at least done it one other time. Also, this was at a Nazarene church camp; and we Nazarenes don't believe in lying. I remember the name of the girl; and if anyone asks, I'll tell them. I didn't know what was going on at the time, but I remember hearing about it more later. From what I had heard, this girl had messed around with Ouija boards a little bit; and when she had gone forward to pray, she found that she couldn't pray out loud; and when she tried, this demon would growl instead. The fact that she had been messing around with Ouija boards makes me even more leary of trying my why game with one of them or any game with one. I stay away from those things. Additionally, you may want to bring up the topic in the Christian forum. Check the Files section, and you will see two articles there about how the Catholic Churhch identifies anything Satanic, or of Satanic/demonic origin. No offense taken personally, I was just pointing out that it could be taken that way. The comment came from a comment I made about most people not wanting to think logically and mentioned my room mates from high school who particularly didn't like to think deeply about anything beyond the sports page.
