Guest guest
I'm glad you mentioned the massuese because I am thinking of starting with one next month, one a a week. She is giving me a cut rate on the cost because of being on chemo. I wasn't sure if it would make much a difference or not but thought it couldn't hurt, right? Guest guest
Ally I agree with the tylenol thing,, if you can keep the aches at bay, it really does help make tx more manigible,, but remember,, YOU must NEVER exceed 2000 mg of Tylenol in any 24 hour period... I would say that IF you could take the tylenol before you go to bed, it might help you sleep better and then one other time during the day,,, but you need to look at ALL the meds you take to make sure you dont exceed that 2 gram or 2000 mg TOTAL dose per day of tylenol.. My doc said since I didnt have any problems with Advil, I could ALSO, in ADDITION to the 2000 mg of Tylenol , I could take up to 1600 mg of Advil too,, THEY both work differently so they CAN be taken together..but as long as you dont exceed the maximum daily amounts, you can take them whenever.. does that make sense? I found that alternating or taking 1 Tylenol and 2 advil at the same time made ALL my headaches and body aches go away as long as I drank the gallon of water.. just my 2 cents, jaxAlly <4thMoon@...> wrote: Thanks , maybe this will help me to be more disciplined about drinking water! Guest guest
Thanks Jax, Yeah, my Dr also told me the 2g limit on Tylenol. I am being very careful with that too, the last thing I want to do is somehow compromise my liver after all this work. I am feeling much better today too so I am SO grateful for that! I do have some advil too so will keep that in mind. Hopefully I won't need it everyday only on Fridays and maybe the weekend. I have my fingers crossed on that one. Guest guest
Tylenol is still the safest for us even with our liver disease as long as we DONT exceed 2 grams or 2000 mg per day total in ALL the meds you take... ppl with NO liver disease can safely take up to 4 grams,, but those of us with hepc can only go up to 2 grams.. Tyelnol is ONLY bad for the liver IF you exceed the max dose or you take more than the max for months on end... Where did you hear that Tylenol is bad for the liver????????????Valarie Page <flap85274@...> wrote: I thought Tylenol was not good for the liver? --- Jackie on <redjaxjm > wrote:> Yes,, Ibuprofen IS the same thing as Advil,, or> Motrin,, all the same thing..> > Valarie Page <flap85274 > wrote: > Is it ok to use Ibuprofen with Tylenol instead of> Advil?> > Valarie> > --- Jackie on <redjaxjm > wrote:> > > Ally> > I agree with the tylenol thing,, if you can keep> > the aches at bay, it really does help make tx more> > manigible,, but remember,, YOU must NEVER exceed> > 2000 mg of Tylenol in any 24 hour period...
