Guest guest
Hello All, I do have great news. I have posted in the past about my insurance and how stubborn they are about covering past Evaluations. The first Eval outside of Early intervention was a SLP out of Boston Children's Hospital she is the one who told me about Apraxia in July but never put it into her report cause she was not 100% due to Jack not having a good day. She wrote " Severe Speech Delay " which is no help to me when it comes to insurance. She told me he needs further evaluations, and left me with a 625.00$ bill, so I took him to another evaluation with a team of people; Developmental pediatrician, SLP, social worker and pt. This team was excellent and wrote in the report that JAck has Oral Apraxia and that bill was 550.00$. My insurance said no way unless Jack had a stroke they would not cover these visits to get a diagnosis. So needless to say after spending hours on the and sending them packets with letters and copies of our evalutions I received today my receipts from the insurance company of what I owe and well I owe nothing the insurance company paid for everything. I was almost getting ready to give up and I am so glad that I did not it was worth every effort to get them to cover what will be a long road of bills I am sure. Now if I can get them to cover his private SLP that will be even better. Sincerely, Eileen
