Good morning and H-A-P-P-Y New Year! (smile)

How fantastic to get your response!

Your quick turn around on this request for assistance is appreciated.

NCD also has a document on its website that requests young people with

disabilities to please provide their perspectives on at least one of five

(5) topics that are addressed therein. If you get a chance and would not

mind spreading the word about this opportunity for youth around the country

to " speak out " we would really appreciate that, too. Here is a copy of the

information that was published in the November 2001 NCD Bulletin:

Youth Advisory Committee

NCD's Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), which was chartered in January 2000 to

provide advice to NCD on a wide variety of issues affecting the lives of

children and youth, is seeking youth input into and feedback on a draft

research paper (http://www.ncd.gov/newsroom/advisory/youth/speakout.html )

that addresses five topical areas. The YAC is seeking a youth perspective on

what seems to be working regarding one or more of the following five areas:

education, Social Security and rehabilitation, transportation, employment,

and voting. The deadline is January 15, 2001. To give your input, contact

YAC member Goyo B. Stinchfield (stinchfield@...).

May your services to youth and the community at-large continue to be blessed

during the 2002. Thanks!

Gerrie Hawkins, Ph.D.
