Guest guest
Slitting your throat would make things feel a lot better, for a very short time, anyway. Of course, it would be very short-lived, would make a horrible stain, and would tend to leave you feeling more than just a bit drained! (pardon the incredibly macabre humor used: no real throats were slit in the creation of this insanity, and the standard warning message applies: do not try this at home!) p.s.: Tom would be very upset as well! > > I had guests again yesterday (a couple of Aspie girls with their dad and assistant, respectively) despite still having a bit of a sore throat. I had invited then several weeks ago and thought it would be OK since they were mainly over to let the rest of us hear the end of the fairy tale one of the girls started reading last time (about a princess that saved a prince from a dragon, lol). But of course I coudn't keep myself from babbling afterwards and now my throat hurts so much that I can hardly swallow at all. > > Anyone know what to do about it? Guest guest
I was told that gargelling(sp?) with tea tree was effective. Glass of water, 3 drops of tea tree - do not swallow. It seemed to work when I tried it, kind of numbed it a bit - not overly pleasant taste though :-) Story sounds very interesting :-) > > I had guests again yesterday (a couple of Aspie girls with their dad and assistant, respectively) despite still having a bit of a sore throat. Guest guest
Thanks, Toni! Resourceful as an Aspie! ;-) Of the list, I only have grape seed extract, camomile and salt. I tried the grape seed gurgle - tasted horrid! (I've only used it externally before.) The camomile should taste better - just getting it off the stove now... :-) Inger Re: Sore throat :-( > > > > I had guests again yesterday (a couple of Aspie girls with their > dad > and assistant, respectively) despite still having a bit of a sore > throat. Guest guest
Throat is a little better after all the tea and gurgling. :-) But where is everyone? I'm expiring from boredom here, hoping for someone to write something. If no one wants to play, I guess I'll go to bed soon. Inger
Guest guest
Strict, I think there is a point at which you can decide whether or not to post things and that comes just as your little cursor arrow hovers over the SEND button. One gets the idea that this is a backhanded stab at Inger for the grief she has given you over a couple of your prior posts. If it is, knock it off please. If it is just silly humor, than ha ha. Tom Administrator Slitting your throat would make things feel a lot better, for a very short time, anyway. Guest guest
Silly macabre humor, nothing more: I don't recall which of my parents said (I think it was Mom) death is just a passing phase (FWIW it would be her front-handed slice if she did it... depending on how creative she got ) > > Slitting your throat would make things feel a lot better, for a very > short time, anyway. Guest guest
Thanks for your concern Tom, but it was obvious to me that it was just plain humor. I didn't take any offence anyway. Guest guest
You could try my nuclear throat gargle. 2 parts warm water, 1 part Listerine (or Scope, etc.) and 1/2 tea spoon of salt. Gargle a little at a time until it is gone. Its tough to handle, but works well for me.
Guest guest
Is Listerine stinking of menthol like Scope? Pity I'm allergic to mint. (Why do they have to have mint in EVERYTHING that has to do with mouth hygiene??) I'm afraid I'd faint on the spot and get sick as a dog if I tried your cure. But thanks for the tip anyway. Perhaps someone else might find it useful. The hot herb tea and grape seed extract drops I'm trying since yesterday seem to be working a little. Inger I nearly get sick too, but that is why I called it the nuclear option. Most of the time I will just use salt water or a strong Thyme tea to gargle with and only use the other if the nothing else works. Actually Listerine comes in a few different flavors, none of them really appealing though. But then again, you aren't supposed to swallow it, so I guess that is the logic behind the flavor choices.
