Hi everyone,

I am a new member (about two weeks now) who has been reading all of your

posts and thought it about time that I introduce myself. My name is Amber and

I have a 2 year old autistic son named Spencer.

Spencer is a mildly afflicted autist and is " with us " all of the time, so I

don't have to endure the pain that many of you do, whose children are

somewhere else. He has come back though. There was a time when he was more

vacant than now. He is incredibly loving, actually seeking the right person

from every group of strangers to cling to and love. It's a truly amazing

thing to watch and every person who experiences Spencer's choice is in awe.

Spencer was never immunized for anything,so we don't have that issue to

explore. He has a twin sister who is totally brilliant and, at 23 months, her

developmental assessment was stopped when she reached the 36 month point.

Also, for our 15 minutes of fame, my twins were the Geoge Clooney babies on

" ER " ...Carol Hathaway's twin girls??? Yes, Spencer was baby Kate.

I found out about this board through the enzymes and autism group and

coincidentally, my holistic practitioner sold me some Pro DHA for Spencer a

few months ago. So, when I started researching what I found through the

enzymes group, I was so thrilled to know that Nordic Naturals has the Pro

EPA, which has shown so much improvement in so many kids. Like you all, I am

searching for the supplement or regimen of supplements that will help my son

to realize his full potential. I am even giving the Pro EPA to my 4 year old,

who has a minor speech delay.

I did read some research that it is important to " balance the Omega 6's

before introducing the Omega 3's or the value won't be realized from them.

The research even indicated that a joint supplementation prior to the Omega 6

balance won't work. So, here's my question. I am not one to waste precious

neuronal firings or synapse meetings on research. Spencer's tiny little brain

is incredibly malleable right now and I want to effect whatever positive

change I can as quickly as possible. Have any of you supplemented with

Evening primrose oil with the Pro EPA? If so, how much? Do any of you know if

this is necessary? Dangerous? Synergistic? Any info at all will be greatly

appreciated as I am extremely new to all of this and probably know just

enough to be dangerous. Nice to be a part of such an impressive group of

parents. My hat's off to all of you who are doing something about your

children's health rather than waiting for the doctors to do it for you.
