Guest guest
Stacey I feel for you sweetie! I know how hard it was for me when they put my Breana to sleep for her MRI at age 2.5. I cried, it really scared me when she was " put under " . She was in my arms and suddenly went limp. The nurse warned me it would feel like she was dead, and she did. I almost lost it. But, she came out fine, and so did the MRI. I just wish I was seeing a better Ped Neuro. My doctor never followed through, I went back a year and a half later demanding some answers...so she ordered a sleepdeprived EEG to shut me up. That test came back " normal " , and again no follow through from the doctor. I have had my share with the " Ped Dev Spc " as well...at that age of 2.5, the doctor's excuse for Breana not talking was " she had behavior problems..and needed to sleep in her own bed. Then when I saw that " specialist " a year and a half later, she finally diagnosed Breana with Dev Verbal Dyspraxia...and that was it. She didn't know very much to tell me, just that my daughter may or may never talk...see a speech therapist(i already was)...early intervention(i was doing that as well since Breana was born). Anyways, I really envy those who speak of doctors who figured out these issues at a young age for the children. I still am searching for a doctor to help me. I think I just need to move away from Kansas! Hey, I would love more information on insurance for special kids who's parents make too much money for any other help. Thank you and god bless you and your family! >Hey , > >My son is currently doing the stuff with the eegs. The doctor first >recommended the ambulatory eeg for us but has sensory issues so we >never made it out of the hospital with the stuff on. So then they ordered >a routine sleep deprived eeg in the office which was sedated. It lasted >only 45 minutes and they gave him something to drink to sedate him. The >worst part was the sleep deprivation. We had to put him to bed as late as >possible and wake him as early as possible. He could only have a total of 5 >hours of sleep. ( he's 2.4 years old). As soon as they unhooked him from >the electrodes he had an episode. Figures does'nt it?
