I had an almost two month wait and I thought I would go crazy, but I just

made up my mind to not think about it until closer to the time. I just decided

it was something that was the in future...and it worked for me (and that's a

first)! Try to put it out of your mind, otherwise you'll make yourself crazy!

(I know, easy for ME to say)!

Hugs and blessings, Ann

No, Vicki, I haven't worked in 10 years because of degenerative spinal

disease. So, yes, I had myself to entertain during the wait.

Bright colors cheer me up, too! (I'm glad your husband didn't kill you.

LOL)

Ann,

She could do like I did and run all over NYC in the meantime....LOL.

It DID pass the time as I had to pack twice and with all the running, I had

no time to worry....Well, there was this one time on Sunday night before

surgery when I cried in the shower, but noone Knew but me.

Of course that's what I meant!! What did you think???? I was like a kids

waiting for Christmas...I just figured everyone was. My biggest problem was I

didn't want to do anything, because I just wanted to get through life until

surgery. I'd sit through ballgames thinking this is the first time I will have

to

sit here at 350+ lbs, or sit through a concert of my kids thinking maybe I will

be able to fit in the seat.

Yes, , there is something to be said about being crazy-busy just

before surgery, even if it does include having appendicitis in NYC! LOL Hugs

I think what she meant is that as kids, the week before Christmas we

were all excited and restless and we couldn't wait for Christmas to

actually be there.. You're giving yourself the biggest present of all

right now, and of COURSE you're going to be thinking of this

constantly! The wait can seem forever, I know it did for me. I got

a sense of calm a few days before my surgery. Everything fell into

place and I knew that I was doing the right thing. Your surgery will

be here before you know it. It's only natural to be obsessed in

thinking of the surgery, it was the only thought on my mind. We

would be planning on doing things months and months in advance, and I

would think, " Hmmm, so that would be x-amount of days after my

surgery.. I wonder how much weight I will have lost by then " Try to

relax and take care of as many things as you need to. Maybe read

some good books if you need to take your mind of it.
