Hey everyone, I guess I'll start off by telling you all how 's latest ARD meeting went. Well, I can't tell you mouch because I wasn't there. It wasn't my fault though. I received 2 notices from the school about it and both of them said 3:30, well when we got there at 3:30, a woman who knew my son said we missed you at the ARD meeting today and of course I gave her the blankest look ever like what do you mean, it's right now. So I told her no it's not till 3:30. Then she tells me that they switched it to 1:15. I said well both notices I got said 3:30. So anyway, the ST went over everything with us and I have to say that I am pretty pleased with this new school more than I was with the other one. The IEP goals that they have set for him are more specific to him (Ex do an activity for more than six minutes at a time, follow directions without a lot of promting or

something like that) there were several others but I don't remember them all. I do remember that some of it did pertain to his eating though like use utensils properly and eat when promted or something like that, I can tell you more once I get my copy of the ARD papers. Anyway, the ST and the PPCD teacher thinks that by the time Pre-K gets here that he'll be ready. Of course, I have a ton of questions and concerns, but I'm going to be sending an e-mail to his teacher to address all of that. On the other hand, I'm entirely thrilled that they think he is ready for that. His class has been going into the Pre-K class every morning for an hour so that the PPCD class can have some peer modeling. I just hope that he can still have the Special education classroom as a place to fall back on if things get too hard for him in the mainstream classroom. He loves going to school right now and I want him to continue being that way. So now we don't have to have another ARD till next

December. Ok, now for the rest of the e-mail. 's new thing is that he'll go up to absolutely anybody, perfect strangers and all and he'll walk up to them and wrap his arms around their legs and give them a hug, It's like he did a complete 180. In the begining he was really warry of people and wouldn't really be around them to being way too friendly. People don't know how to react when he does that. I think most of them are kind of offended to have a perfect stranger walk up and hug them like that. How do I stop this and teach him that some people are bad and that we can't be doing that to just everyone? When comes home from school, he rides the school bus. He's the only one that does in the afternoon. His bus driver is having the hardest time getting him to stay in his seat belt. Are there any tips or tricks for that one. I think that those are my only questions. I'll write again if I think of anymore. Thanks everyone. sorry this email was so long.
