doctor office incident

I am wondering if anybody has any ideas or suggestions. My son is

Asperger's (or so we have been told), but am wondering if he may be

higher functioning autism, due to an incident that happened last Friday.

My son's Aunt Sandy took him to the doctor's office with her on Friday

morning. She had an appt with the doctor and had to tag along

because I was working. Everything was fine and then, while I was at

work, I got an intersting phone call. My son has been banned from the

Doctor's office. The reason: He was playing in his poop in their

bathroom and got it all over the toilet, the wall, and the sink. They

say it was my son, since he was the only other child there that

morning and they didn't discover this until they returned from their

lunch hour.

I wouldn't have believed it, except that my son did a similar incident

at home the day before. He missed the toilet on both sides and got

poop all over the place then too. His Aunt called me at work and

asked me about it and I thought of it as a true accident, as it has

happened a couple of times before.

When Aunt Sandy asked about it, he told her he did it because

he was mad that she was giving him a bath. I'm not sure why in the

world he would do it at the doctor's office or why he would play in

poop (had a handprint on the toilet) and it just almost doesn't make

any sense to me.

Any clues, suggestions, ideas? Is my son in a stage of some sort? Is

he being defiant? Rebellious? Or just curious?? I would appreciate

any thoughts on this one.

My son just turned 9 physically, but developmentally, he's about 6 or 7.

thanks for any help!

Meshel :)
