Hey all,

Thanks to Charlie and Rena, and everyone who sent me a birthday message.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much; the college life is somewhat stressful

and my health has been poor. I'm still here but these days it's best to drop

me a direct note at chaospearl@... instead of waiting for me to read the

digests. :\

I'm living in Oregon at the moment, but I'll be back home in NY over the

summer. I have a second hip-replacement surgery scheduled for June 21st.

It's a little depressing to know I have to go through that again after just

having the first one in January, but I keep telling myself after this, I'll

be able to do things. Like, walk for instance, without perpetually listing

to starboard.

cheers

Jenni

Jenni,

Best of luck to you. My mother in law has had a hip replacement and even

though the surgery and recovery was difficult, she is able to walk without

the awful pain she was having before. I hope you begin to feel better real

soon :)

honey, fructose, vinegar, molasses, glucose, water, concentrated lemon

>juice, alcohol, food coloring.

Hi all,

I have! It's not painless like they claim, but I didn't really expect it to

be. It does work, but it takes some practice to get it right. My hubby is

much better at it than I am, so he helps with the torture. If you can stand

to let your leg hair grow out long enough, it's way better than an epilady!!

my son bobby (ds) is 12 now--he had the same surgery when he was 9 and it

helped him immensely. he did have sleep apnea as well. bobby's recovery

was slow (about 2 weeks) but he certainly sleeps better now which has

improved his health overall. i highly recommend it. the anesthesia was not

a problem.

HI,

I want to thank everyone who responded to my e-mail. My brother means the

world to me and I wanted to help my parents research this before we did it. I

thank you all for your comments and thoughts. Last Mothers day actually

was on OPRAH. I wrote in a letter about my mom and all the hard work she has

done with . Well we made one of her dreams for him come true. She had

no idea I was there and we surpised her with a Job for at Walmart in the

garden dept. I would do anythng for him. We moved over from Australia in 1981

when I was six with no family here in the US, and was born in 1984. He

has changed our lives for the better. We are blessed to have him in our family.

We all look our for him. He will graduate from High school next year and almost

has his eagle scout! You can imagine how proud we are. I live in N. California

and they live in S. California so I miss them alot and do everything i can to

see them often. Thank you for all your help. Kerry (sis to 16 ds)

Dear Nina and Debbie le:

It was so comforting to know that other people are having the severe feeding

problems with apraxia as we are. Why can't the pediatrican's figure this out

early on instead of waiting. My son, Jordan is 21 months and 22 lbs. He barely

eats one meal a day. He eats yogurt, cookies, and cheerios. That's it! We are

taking him to

St. ph's Feeding and Swallowing Disorders program in Paterson for help and

of course, speech therapy !

I've used Ambien and I might as well eaten a Snicker candy bar. My son takes it and it knocks him flat. Just depends on your personal chemistry, I guess.

I have tried Valium and find it provides such a long drugged out feeling. I

prefer Antivan.

I've used Ambien for sleep, but still have better sucess with Antivan.

Thanks for the Appleton report. It was very encouraging. The Mallard

Fillmore cartoon strip that is syndicated in newspapers across the country

did several days worth of panels, a month or so ago, making fun of school

districts that actually pushed mind control drugs on kids. Say, isn't there

a zero tolerance law forbidding drug pushing in schools?

Actually, according to a Rabbi from Denver, who was guest speaker at our

church recently, the Bible promotes a healthy diet as the best way to combat

illness. Makes good sense to me.

Dawn, I just received the above note from my brother. I wonder if you or

anyone else saw the cartoon strip that he mentioned. I've never heard of

it.

Hi Kathy,

I take Armour thyroid. It comes in various size

doses, but i take 90 mg per day. It's a non-synthetic

(derived from animals) form of thyroid medication.

It's been on the market much longer than any of the

synthetic brands, and it's really cheap!
